Its too funny, I pass up a living breathing nice picturesque world for a more artistic world (WOW). Sorry Sigil you're not getting my dollars. Do yourselves a favor Sigil work on art, combat animations, spell animations, emotes, voices, etc etc. No way you are going to make the game work better or change all of the combat animations etc etc by Jan 30th if you do than its a miracle. The world you created looks great but doesnt work great, blizz has something up their sleeves and its called artisitc value. You can keep your swaying trees, great vistas it just doesnt do much for gameplay sorry.
Over and out (to the outland and beyond oh and to my new blood elf).
Yay one less idiot to play our game!
Does make me happy to know your worried enough about your little virtual world to come and post.
Again Sigil work on getting more life in the game, meaning make animations look well like the game. If your going to have 2007 shiny new graphics and lets see Super Nintendo animations its not going to grab the player. Sorry but fix those things and also fix the sounds, god I can do better at the sound myself sounds like a 2 yr old did the sounds for the game (with the exception of bird sounds and music but mob sounds are really bad IMO). Hate to hate the game but its just boring the way it is, more mindblowing cool animations, better char animations and please for the love of god get rid of the really cheesy heavy metal music while I am fighting as my Martok Orc, its really bad. The install size is a little rediculous as well, look at oblivion's graphics (pretty much on par with Vanguard) and it only takes up like 4 gigs, sorry but your game should only take up like 10 the most thats it. Umm its called compression.
You know whats really funny about comments on WoW such as "kiddy game, immature kids" ? if you go to Worldofwarcraft.com or any other websites and look at the pictures of the Aussie midnight release of TBC OR ANY real life events of WoW you'll see that everyone there is over 20... so in response to all those comments...
LOL eh whatever... you prolly already knew that though DIDN'T YOU?
No matter how old they are, those who play it, it is still a kiddy game, u dont need any brain to play it, when i played it, it was like playing a starter mmorpg, if u havent played a mmorpg b4, WoW is good, but tbh, i need more

good point! I mean where are all the 8 to 15 year olds at midnight camping out at a local strip mall unattended by their parents on a Monday night!??
I'll let you think about that one for a bit.
"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a robot foot stomping on a human face -- forever."
Problem is with wow is that it is very quick to lvl ( which ppl like) easy to get money (which ppl like), but at the end of it all u will by BC... u will play it up to 70, do afew raids, and instances... month later u will be bored and try another mmorpg. If wow took down the time u lvl each lvl and made it just a tad harder not many ppl would be bored of it straight away and blizzard can work on there next patch before everyone gets bored.
On a Vanguard note. I have vanguard beta and the ppl that think it wont be ready should think again... they have done one hell of alot of things to improve it.. the lag has got better, quests are superb graphics are too, not many bugs really now so really as its beta in the first place i recon it might be done on time, with just afew ajustments here and there
It's too funny, I pass up a repetitive cartoony world for an impressive fantasy world that gives you the freedom to do anything (V:SoH). Sorry Blizzard, you're not getting my dollars anymore. Do yourselves a favor Blizzard, quit spoonfeeding gamers from a bowl of easy/mindless gameplay, stop the raid treadmill, balance your classes, etc etc. Sure Vanguard has its tweaks to work out but it's shaping up more and more every time we beta testers log on. The world Blizzard created looks great but when the novelty of the cartoon universe wears off it's tough to get immersed in it. Ol' Sigil has something up its sleeves and it's called realism. You can keep your cow jokes, headbanging undead, gnome mages that gank in ogrimmar, barrens chat, kiddies chasing people down and begging to duel, pallies that run into cities then bubble/hearth, the list goes on and on, none of which does anything for fun gameplay. Over and out ( to a MASSIVE world to explore, water as well as land, and to my new half giant, or dark elf, or goblin, or any of the many many playable races).
LOL well said.
I am glad for WoW fans who are getting their expansion. If you love WoW, this is a great time for you. I wonder why they can't just enjoy their game and have to come to the Vanguard forums and be immature brats? I certainly don't wish any bad on them and am happy that they have a game they love, sad that they can't be the same way.
Anyway, you won't see me in the WoW forums bashing their game.
I thought about going back to WoW for BC but then I looked at new talent trees, new skills and new content and realised that the balance in the game (they REALLY should have stuck with the rock, paper, scissors idea that they had in beta) will yet again be completely borked.
Not to mention the ONE REAL difference between being alliance/horde is being taken away. Instead of fixing shaman/paladin balance they decided to just say "screw it we give up." Have you read the lore on the Draenai (SP)? It is ludicrously out of wack with the rest of the world. BC to me just looks like a cash cow. Not to mention the fact that all the content at level 60 (months and months and months worth of dungeons and raids) may as well not even exist now. Hell Naxx hasn't even been out for very long.
The funny thing is that Blizzard have shot themselves in the foot as far as new players are concerned as no one in their right mind leveling a new char will even stop to small the roses at level 60 for that content. New people will now just go straight to 70 and start bitching about content after 3-4 months like in the original release.
/sigh I really liked WoW. I wish instead of more and more raiding they had continued along the Diremaul style content. That place had lots of strategy and different ways of doing things. Multiple paths and tough pulls. A great freaking instance. Not to mention the loot was varied enough that you could get whatever you liked out of it. Imagine that after doing Diremaul quests you find out about another place were some more powerful beings are trapped. Maybe you'd have to collect some items from diremaul in order to get in or beat bosses there or something.
Ahh well Vanguard is fun and challenging. Gonna read up about the initial 3 days of pre-order people playing and then decide if I want it right away or if I wait for a month or two.

I have reactivated my WoW account and bought BC to have fun. I had a really hard time to decide between Vanguard and BC. When the 3 months are over (thats how much playtime I bought) I will think about the next game I will play, which could be Vanguard.
The reason I got BC and not Vanguard is that I rather wait a couple of months, the community and the game will be more mature then. Also I want to see how Sigil holds up in the official game (the released version). What are their plans? They said they borrowed some EQ2 devs to help with VG. What happens when they are gone? Will the patches come less frequent with less content and improvements?
I still got too many questions before I will start playing VG, till then Ill be playing BC.
ps. I ain't no kid, I am 28 (married, house, dog, kid, job, etc)

This is exactly what I'm doing. I really wanted to get into the Vanguard beta. If I had and liked it, I wouldn't have even bought the BC expansion. Now I will play WoW for a while longer and keep an eye on Vanguard. If it looks interesting, I'll try to convince my wife to jump over to Vanguard with me.
Vanguard's art far exceed's WoW's. Its not even close. WoW's models still look like the shit my my sister puts on her refrigerator only because her kids drew it.

I keep hearing this sort of criticism over and over, and it's funny. Sure, screenshots looks unimpressive in WoW, but in actually play it looks very good. I haven't seen a MMO yet where the character models moved as nicely or naturally as they do in WoW. Running looks good, turning looks good, combat looks good. The character models in EQ2 never seemed natural, and it was difficult to get used to. I am hoping for better from Vanguard.

Yes of course... Oh and by the way: Who said that idiotic kids that play WoW meant their actual real life age? Ever heard of "mental age"?
You can be 18 years old+ all you want, but still be a stupid kid. Which is the majority of WoW idiots that still plays that moronic repetitive gameplay for over 2 years now.
Thanks.
What deserves to be done, deserves to be "well" done...
WoW is a fun computer game. It's not very immersive or challenging, but it looks cute and cuddly, it works well on any machine out there (without dumping down their graphics for older systems) and it got a fast paced addictive gameplay. It's easy and intuitive for everyone.
But some of us want more or perhaps something different alltogether. The feel of accomplishement, the challenge and hardship who is part of an immersive game. Leveling up should BE the game not downtime till you get to max level to do mindless repetitions of the same raid content over and over. Raiding felt like a daily guided tour for tourists, the game looks and feels like a theme park for kids. It's funny and it doesnt take itself too seriously.
I could not roleplay in this game. You take one good look at a pink haired gnome wobbling about in classic Nintendo console fashion and you know it's just for fun.
VG is certainly not a polished game yet and will release with bugs and problems, but it will offer so much more than WoW right at release...
Vanguard's art far exceed's WoW's. Its not even close. WoW's models still look like the shit my my sister puts on her refrigerator only because her kids drew it.
You're full of it (shit). I don't play WoW anymore or ever will again. I don't like it. But to say that WoWs art looks shit is just ridiculous and only proves that you have absolutly no clue wtf you're talking about. If you keep in mind how low their polygon count is, WoWs artists have done amazing job.
I seriously doubt Sigil reads/cares about whats written on these forums. Why do haters feel the need to press their worthless opinions down everyones throats like they were the US government or something?.. If you don't like it fine, but we don't want to hear you whine and bitch about it, write it all down and mail it you yourself, or your mother, whatever.

Exactly... Low poly count = shitty graphics, they should have thought about that before they released the game, but god forbid they make a good looking game and loose the subscription fees from the low-end gamers.
Why all the hate and discontent? These are discussion forums after all, and as long as the code of conduct is followed anyone can post their opinion. Want nothing but omygawd this game is so frigging awesome posts then go to a fansite. I tried both WoW or Vanguard and would not pay 5 cents to play either one, that's just my opinion. If you think either game will make your life better and provide you with your moneys worth then go for it. No hair off my posterior either way, but don't tell where and what I should post.
This game has a lot of serious issues right now. If you like it and want to pay them while they try and fix those issues then fine. But a lot of us like to have our games in better shape before we plunk down our money. Keep buying half finished games and polishing the turd and the developers will keep delivering buggy, laggy games that still need a good six months development before they hit the shelves.

TBH, what gets tiresome is the fact that you constantly repeat yourself and you have no intention of playing (You have repeated that quite a few times as well). No one can stop you from posting here but you are making yourself look kind of "thick". Do you have templates FFS? I mean everyday it's the same thing. I just don't get it.

Why don't try and count the number of times you and the rest of the "fans" have posted " this game is great" this game runs fine on my 3 year old machine" "they will fix it the bugs". If any SOE or Sigil employees do read this ask yourself why the Blizzard guys are running around the office making hats out 100 dollar bills and you are not. Gamers need to quit buying half ass finished games, as long as we do the developers will keep selling them.
