Because you already lost. Someone made it in 28 hours /played from 60.00-70.

Just insane. But I guess that's what the developer gets for not balancing new content properly. Back to lurking then.

Peace,

You sure its not a ss from beta testing?

Didnt Bliz said it will take as much time to get from 60-70 as it took from 1-60?

Its BS, I doubt anyone reached 70 yet.

Well, with the current game mechanic, it's theoretically possible. Think tap leveling only with 10 or so level 62 friends killing that 70.

    Doubt if you must though.

  • peenkpeenk Member Posts: 270
    Doubt I will!

I have no love for WoW but even I must give Bliz its due that they wouldnt make a mistake THIS big.

This has got to be a SS from beta or pshop work.

there is a interview i read somewhere with this guy. it is legit and it is possible with enough people. I took a friend of mine 30 - 60 very quickly using the tap technique, I can imagien with a whole guild helping you it woulnd't be that hard.

btw if i can find the post, i'll link it.

    Here's that interview:

    Player name: Gullerbone

    Character name: Gawell

    Class: Mage

    Server: Archimonde (EU - PvP)

    French Guild: Millenium

    Interview

[WoR]Teza: Can you introduce yourself quickly in a few words?

Gullerbone: I am french and 24 years old, a member of Millenium (french guild) since 1-2 months and I was the one playing the mage called Gawell for this exp rush, eventually I will reroll shaman to complete my PvP arena team.

[WoR]Teza: Whats your played time from 60 to 70? Which zone were you in when you reached lvl 70?

Gullerbone: It took me 28 hours to get from 60 to 70, and dinged 70 at 4:04 am (CET) on Januar 17. I was in Netherstorm (subzone: Mana forge) when i reached lvl 70.

[WoR]Teza: What was your preparation? How did you make it in such a short time?

Gullerbone: Cau (the 1st european lvl 60) and I planned the exp route step by steps, trying everything to make sure it was the most approriate, the groups organization with the guild Millenium and their members. Each member rotated using a definite order to help me to grind on mobs, mostly with AE, surrounded with several guildmates healers, tanks, pullers etc...

[WoR]Teza: How many people were involved in your leveling project?

Gullerbone: All 40 members were involved; Milleniums member were assigned to specific tasks and planning inorder to keep me leveling and the maximum rate.

[WoR]Teza: Was it 10-20 or more people killing mobs after you tagged them?

Gullerbone: Well at first we had be only 5 (during the first 10 hours or so) so that 10 of the members could get lvl 62. then in the morning we were 15 inorder to kill the mobs at a faster rate. Finally in the evening, everyone was involved and we could gather a 35 man raid to help me in netherstorm with our newly lvl 62 doing most of the job.

[WoR]Teza: Right, were you the only one playing Gawell from 60 to 70 for the whole duration 28 hours?

Gullerbone: I sure did, I slept form 2 to 10pm on monday (waked up 2 hours before TBC launch),so the physical preparation was a part of the plan.

    [WoR]Teza: Fine, any last words?

Gullerbone: It has been a pleasure to do this with Millenium, I hope we come across other similar challenges in the futur, I am very gratefull to every Millenium members.

    End

I thought going from 60-70 was supposed to be like 10-40 not 1-5???

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

Rogues are supposed to do the most sustained damage on a point target in the game, too.

Has to be the saddest story i have read in a long time.

It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

I doubt it really. Either its photoshopped or he is just flat out lying. There is much in his interview that tells me this. The biggest thing is he said he and his guild did 35 man raids to get xp. That is a very piss poor slow way to do it. You get a huge negative penality if you raid.

At first I thought he must not be lying. 28 hours to get from 60 to 70 is doable. Especially if you plan it out. Just like he said they did. But then he saidthey raided. Well that lost it for me.

In don't think you understand how hey did it exactly. When he said raid he ment everyone else, not him.

In wow, if you tag a mob, as long as it turns grey to ppl outside of your party, if someone else kills it you get full xp.  In know this because like i said, i leveled up my friends mage by having him run into a group of mobs, AoE once then i would run in after him (i'm lvl 60 and he's lvl 30) and AoE to take to them all out. Since we're not in a party he gets full xp.

What this guy did i'm assuming is a variation of that. He brought 40ish ppl out there (a raid, which would be needed for anyhting above 67 since everyone in the guild was around 62), he would tag a mob or multiple mobs and the raid would kill it. He never had to stop for water or to refill his HP they just chain pulled hundereds of mobs over and over again. The raid would kill it, he'd get the xp. It is doable.

This once again, shows the kind of white trash that categorize as "hardcore" MMO players... Really fucking sad. More sad is that there's a whole bunch of people just as loosers who helped him with it!

What deserves to be done, deserves to be "well" done...

  • I suppose if he was AE'ing tagging everything and was completely potted up the whole time along with tier3 equiped mage so he never needed an upgrade i would say sure i'd go for it. Kinda goofy though, i'd never help. He waisted 40 peoples time in his leveling process. When you think about it the man hour put to him leveling is insane.

    6x10 = 60 hours

then he said 10 hours in they had gotten up to 15 for 2 hours

    15x2 = 30 hours

then he said for the last about 15 hours or so he said he had a 35-40man raid force working with him

    40x15= 600 hours

With that totaling out at 690 hours of man power required to get him to 70. No one else made it with him since he said they got to 62 and then focused on him. Thats a shitload of time when ya think about it.

OMFG. That's rly sick and the most sick is that whole is guild is helping him. Rly sick guy, but I must say he kind of missed the point of the game. Sure it's fun to see how fast u can get to 70, but some part of the game is to see all places and experience the game and have fun. Thanks for the post

Seriously?  I mean, you think the content should have been balanced so that a group of 40 working to level a single person  with insane amounts of planning and 28 straight hours of play would be accomodated for?

There's always going to be a speed leveller.  Some people get their glory from that.

If 90% of the server is 70 next week, talk to me about balancing.  You can never balance a grind - people are just going to find the best mobs to grind on, and do it.  There's nothing to fix that.

    Who am I?

Badjuju, Splinterhoof, Plainsrunner on WoW (Moonrunner)
    Shyy'rissk on SWG (Flurry)
ClockworkSoldier, HE Pierce, Letnev on Planetside
    Gyshe, Crucible, Terrakal on DDO
    And many more.

My first thought when I read that was, "Man that's really pathetic".

Maybe he's stuck in a wheel chair or something though. I don't know.  If not, he's going to be if he continues living like this. heh.

I think the overall point is that "he" didn't achieve anything more than the saddest feat of mass planning that i have ever heard of. He may have a L70 char, but in reality 'he' did no more than run around and tag MOB's.

I will repeat that if it is true (and i am still in two minds, or so my shrink says), it only goes to prove just how sad some people can be.

It is like when i bought my son one of those 'dig up the dinosaur' kits for Xmas as he is into that sort of thing, so i thought he would enjoy the time spent carefully digging out the bones and building his dino. When he finally decided to do it, he realised that the sand would dissolve away in water and so instead of carefully digging up the bones he placed it in the sink and got all the bones in a few minutes (clogging u-bend at the same time mind you). He built his dino and was bored with it in no time, completely defeating the object of the gift in the first place.

No matter what you do or whatever opportunities you offer people, someone will always look for a shortcut and completely defeat the object of it.

It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

Adds a whole new meaning the the phrase, "It's lonely at the top (in and out of game)" or what ever it is.

I went to the The book store and they had the guide way before the release given all this info they had all they needed. Maybe blizz should wait a lil while before cranking out all the guides. I can see how with 40 ppl helping it would work i wanna see the raid dps numbers how much more dps would he do would he be carrying the smaller raid forces? or would he pulling hate? id like to see the numbers its cool somone can do that ill wait around to hear more about TBC before i resub tho.
