Where have you been? This idea was floated around nearly three months ago by Helios, a DEV who no longer works with SWG. If you see something that isn't out of date, please let us know. I am on those forums regularly.

Helios not working on SWG is a rumour that has been denied so far by people at SOE. Correction, Helios not working at SOE was denied by SOE. They never denied he is no longer working on SWG. Helios hasn't said a word related to the game in nearly three months! If he was really still with SWG, wouldn't it be easier for HIM to say so instead of locking threads and having others say he is still with SOE? Why did Helios say goodbye to everybody then?

Helios not working for SOE is a rumour that has been denied so far by people at SOE. Thats the only thing i've seen. But if they have denied him not working on SWG, thats news to me. You would know better than me though, so im prolly mistaken.

Ahh using common sense are we? Yes, as the main man (or so he thought) of SWG, one would expect ONE POST from the fool himself.
However, there is no doubt somthing is up--- if can't find the time to post once about the game as the leader of it, you have to use some sense as to why? I mean once a month is not asking alot from the lead man of the product is it?
UNLESS.... yep, he is not working on it. Helios is by far one of the worst Devs I think I have ever seen, heard, met or been aware of since my first gaming days using my Ti99. When he has said some of the things I have heard him say it tells you how out of touch he was with the playerbase... From Camps, to decay, to CH, to what he thought of the direction of the game.
Has he proved his thoughts? No
Has he made SWG a success? No
Has he made any great reviews, great strides with SWG? No
Has he made the game better and made the playerbase trust him in any way shape or form? No
At this point you have to wonder if he is in charge anymore. Failure across the board... period.
Remember when he said this: "There will be no rollbacks" or "There will be no server merges"....
Yeah..lol.... good times.. I still think the camps line was the best about "Just sitting there"...lol

No you need to take to the most basic level and ASK WHO IS THE LEADER OF THIS PRODUCT?
THAT is the bottom line, skip all the other crap..... you have to ask... "How sad or bad is it that we don't even know who is driving the bus into the ground"?
That is the real question...
I tell you it amazes me that any normal person or consumer can pay for this kind of leadership, project managment.
Think about it..... "At your school, or job... not knowing who is what is in charge of your lifestyle or well being"...lol just basic stuff folks...

Yes Helios is no longer lead dev for SWG. Here's the announcement from ChrisCao: "As many of you are aware, Thomas Blair (Blixtev) is taking over for Kai Steinmann (Helios) as Lead Designer on the project. Thomas is going to continue to enhance and expand SWG by following the work that Kai began last year."
As far as beastmaster goes, yes that was a conceptual thread started by helios a few months ago. There were many posts in response to this. People were upset at the suggestion that they might have to trade in the pets that they currently have in their datapads for something more NGE friendly. Since the original post, and the ensuing debate over datapad-trapped pets, I haven't read anything more. It appeared to die with that debate.
If there's anything recent, I'd love to hear about it. I won't play SWG while its in SOE's hands, but I would like to know if SOE ever decides to stop their absolutely brutal treatment of people that played a CH.
One thing that should have been set right immediately after SOE received feedback about the NGE was Creature Handler. Their failure to treat these players with common decency was a huge factor that led to me leaving the game. I was never a CH myself, but some of my good friends were. The way they were treated was not cool. SOE has paid by losing my money, and by seeing their reputation spiral down the toilet.

Hey looks like they're going to follow thru on the beastmastery idea. According to one of the latest Senate reports, they're working on a way to release all pets currently in D-pads too. I reeeally hope they make that work for those that still play, and want a reunion with their pets
