Is it possible to eat a good restaurant in America?

The starters are bigger than the Main meals over here in the UK, can't even get through the starter let alone order main meals lol. It was sooo disgusting crap quality food everywhere i've been aswel and not all were commercial. It feels to me that america on a whole really has no proper love for food.

Go into a supermarket and flipping heck a gallon bottle of milk? Rofl i get 1.5L over here : Atleast in the UK i can find amazing quality food and resturants, it's very hard over there.

I've been to countries like Thailand and they put ours to shame, the food over there is sooo lovely and comes in ammounts you can eat + just great quality.

I don't think it is possible to eat a restaurant. I hear kitchen appliances are hard to digest.

Oh, and the UK has notoriously shitty food, so your room-to-talk-ometer is very low.

If it wasn't for Mexicans or Italian immigrants, your cuisine would be nothing to write home about either.

Actually, I found many good restuarants in the US. With one exception. Chinese restaurants in Dallas. Chinese food should be cooked by Chinese people who know best, not Mexicans.

I still miss Dickey's BBQ and Olive Garden.

End of an era, do you, like a lot of Brits, consider curry to be British?

I think that food is nowhere near as important  in America as it is over in Europe or many other countries.  Obviously not an original idea, but that is how I feel.  For me, I do not eat breakfast 98% of the time.  I personally think it is a useless meal when most of the time you are going to be eating again in 3-5 hours for lunch.   The idea of missing a meal in Europe would probably be blasphamy.

When I went to Europe, I was traveling with a Portugese co-worker who lived in France, and he thought I was absolutely nuts for missing a meal.  He did not understand that I just did not need to eat.  I realised I had no drive to.  I don't eat just to eat, so I eat when I am hungry...lunch is usually 12:30 - 1:30 and dinner for me is somewhere between 9:00 - 10:00.  He had to eat three meals and they had to be quality meals.  It drove him crazy when because of time constraints we had to stop by a McDonalds and get a Royal w/ cheese.

Food is a way of life for Europeans, where I think it is seen mostly as a necessity in the US.  There are times when you want to have a great meal that you are not going to prepare yourself, so you search out those great resturants.  Those meals often stand out as special because it is not the norm.  That experience at a great restaurant would be deminised if all you ate was food like that constantly.

France and Switerland had the best food while I was across the pond...

We're a melting pot, no shit Italian and Mexican immigrants have influenced our food. I think we have the best of all the worlds. I love the food, and maybe you're just having an unlucky streak with your culinary endeavors.

    lol QFT
    Blood Pudding anyone?

Though, HP Sauce on bacon sandwiches is so good it gives me a hard on. I got a bottle of HP once and went through 6 packages of bacon in 3days. Don't let my s/n fool you. I'm uber skinny.

Oh, and I wasn't aware there were any American restaurant, since like 95% of our food comes from other countries because 99.9999% of our population comes from other countries.

Well no shit that the UK is a melting pot too - they have the best of all worlds too. So does any other multicultural country.

Chinese food shouldn't be cooked by Mexicans - and my wife, who's half-Mexican, thoroughly agrees.

Ok, I just read this part.

Thailand has food that comes in amounts you can eat.
    Thailand.
    Thailand?

    You're joking right?
You haven't been to Thailand. Their meals are like 15 courses or more. Asians eat more than anyone on earth! Their food just isn't fatty like ours.

Haha.  That's so weird to hear someone from Australia talk about Dickey's BBQ.  I'll have to tell them next time I'm in there eating.  You want, I can mail you some?

I like eating there too.  But then I love BBQ.  Chicken, Pork, Beef, doesn't matter to me.  I like all that in some good BBQ sauce.  You don't have BBQ in Australia?  If not, that could be the thing for you to make your millions.

What did you come here to Dallas for?  I want to visit Australia.

    So, you're dumb then?
They haven't had a mass immigration in over 2000years. And you're coming that to America...... how?

I went to Dallas for a woman. No other reason makes sense, m8.

I'm dumb, it reckons - 20% of the UK's population is of Caribbean, African or South Asian origin, 8.3% were born abroad.

Since MacMillan and his Winds of Change, the UK has been a magnet for immigration, like any other nation that once had extensive overseas colonies.

Half of the UK'snews seem to be one bitch after the other about liberal immigration policies.

Keep up with current affairs if you're going to post what you think are facts. Or at least do some research.

And you're coming that to America...... how? <- what did you mean by that?

That's........ less than 10%......... of the entire UK.
99.9999% of Americans can trace their heritage back to foreigners.

I still don't get how you're comparing the 2. That link just proves my point.

Yeah, but we're talking about England, not the UK anyway.

I'm still in the dark here. UK does not equal England, did you guys not know that or something?

Sorry, I'm confused as to why you're arguing with me. :-/

Unless your black, or have alot of black in you, no you can not.

For one: That's a theory. Nothing more. Has not been proven and probably won't be proven in the next 200yrs. And the theory is Ethiopia.

Two: Tracing means you can list everyone by name. I think some Chinese family holds the record for how far back they can trace their lineage. Which is about 2000yrs.

Some people eat to live, others live to eat.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

TGIFridays,  Ruby Tuesday, Olive Garden and OutBack Steak House just to name a few and they all serve full course meals ( none of that unhealthy fattening greasy hamburger and fries stuff) but wholesome and very good.
