Recommendations on MMORPG for people who don't have a lot of time

Looking for some advice here. Any game recommendations for people who can only play approximately 10~15 hours a week and still can have fun? A lot of MMORPG out there just requires too much time in leveling and doing missions and so on. Cannot pick it up and drop it at one's own pace. Prefer something not in the market for a long time and appeals to a more matured player base.

thanks

I don't class it as a mmorpg but GW many people say is a very casual game., it has no monthly fee.

I don't really think anyother mmorpg is worth paying for just for 10-15 hours a week. World of Warcraft many people will suggest but it's not a casual friendly game and you'll see that with the honour system (unless its changed) and the raiding system. The burning Crusade has made it abit better with smaller raids but it'll still take you longer.

Yep, would have to say Guild Wars: Nightfall. You can accomplish plenty in one-hour sessions, there's no race to level or anything, and it's very solo friendly. You won't get the persistent, free-roaming world of traditional MMOs, but it's a very polished game.

A "mature-playerbase" is there, but so are the leet-kiddies. Plenty of mature and casual guilds about, though, so I'd recommend joining one if you're thinking of picking it up.

City of Heroes/Villains is also very casual friendly.

You can hop in and do a couple of missions in less than an hour.

    I must second this.

Id say its very hard to regret playing CoH for a casual gamer..unless you really hate the theme. Its an awesome game.

Phantasy Star Universe is also a pretty "60-minute friendly" game.

Instead of forming or joining parties before doing a mission (you can do this too if you want, obviously), you can run into the mission area and you are presented with a list of parties who are currently doing that mission. You can look down the list and choose to join any which are available. You are usually always welcome, as people who don't want additional members can "lock" their party and put a password on it. The missions are usually about 10 to 30 minutes long.

It also has a shop which stays up as you log off, which let's you sell items without playing.

What also separates PSU from other mmo's is the realtime combat, no "select target", "start attacking" kinda thing.

Sadly, you have to purchase the box as well as a monthly fee.

I'll also have to second Guild Wars and City of Heroes/Villains. Very casual friendly games.

Offline skill training makes EVE a very good game to play if you need to take large breaks periodically.

I usually play a few hours a week, then every couple months I play for like a week hardcore. During that week, I grind up enough cash to keep me flying my fancy ships for the rest of the time, when I just log on to find people to kill.

I third this notion. CoH/CoV I actually play on and off. I'm an unhealthy MMO gamer, play these things all day, from wake to sleep, every day. But CoH I switch to for a few hours a little more frequently than every other night. It's just FUN, which is a great break from tedious serious games.

But for a casual gamer, I would deffinately put CoH formost, EVE next.

City of Heroes / City of Villans - is the king of casual game. Also it is probably most fun per play MMO

EVE is almost engenered to be casual - you level even when offline

WOW was design to be casual , but until you hit high levels - then you have raids..and thats not casual

GW is great for casual player, but it is not really MMO

GW is great for the fact that it has no monthly fees, although I got tired of playing shortly after factions came out, it's still a game I'd recommend to anyone.

The most casual friendly game on the market is CoH/V without a doubt.  If you want a fantasy game WoW is actually pretty casual friendly. For both of the games you can solo through the entire game and the dungeons (for the most part) are of a decent length that can be done in a reasonable if there are no wipes or afk breaks.  Plus CoH had some amazing group missions!

If you like the hack and slash item collecting games, just play Diablo 2 because it's a classic and much better than Dungeon Runners is shaping up to be
