What's the best free mmorpg out there these days?

Played Asheron's Call since beta 1998, havent found any games that can top its gameplay.

I'm just tired of paying a monthly fee just to play a game, 4 Asheron's Call accounts at 12.95 a month = 51.80 a month/600+ a year,

kinda rediculas just to have something to do on a rainy day.

why did you NEED 4 accounts to play AC?



If you don't want to be paying $60 a month subbing to a MMO then don't keep 4 freakin accounts active for it.

You really aren't gonna find something that tops its gameplay since AC has had 9 years of updates to add onto it.  You will probably find maybe half as much gameplay elements.

However, if its free mmos.  The top runners have to be 9dragons, Rappelz, and Silk Road.  However all 3 are grinders with the same gameplay.  If your looking for unique gameplay then I highly suggest Shot Online, and Albatross 18.  Golf Games might not seem entertaining, but its a break from the mundane mmo-world.  Also for a challenge there is NavyFIELD, it is a major grind but being able to have ship to ship tactical combat can be entertaining for a time.  Also there is Voyage Century which I haven't tried yet so I can't really say if it is any good.
