Shader issues... I think.

Hey, guys this isn't one of those "Can my computer run this?" threads.

I've been having some issues with the Quest Logs, Health Interface, Skill bar, and Options menus.

When I scroll on the Quest Logs and Options Menu, the text doesn't disapear, it just kinda blends in resulting in a giant black blob that I cant read.

When I enter combat, my Health Interface and Skill bar turn black and I cant see my health, and cant see my spells.

Could this be an issue with any Shaders?

Any inputs let me know please.

I'm running an  Nvidia GeForce 6200(I think on the number part)

I actually uninstalled the game recently, but I was just wondering what the problem is with it, so that I can grab it when it releases, if needed I can re install and talk to you tommorow.

i was just wondering what pixel shader your GPU uses. Vanguard needs 2.0, newer ones have 3.0.  So you would need to force it to 2.0.

if you have dxdiag up it will tell you all of your system specs. click on the display tab and it will tell you what graphics card your using, and I will go from there.

Oh, and turns out I still have the updates, so I will just need to install last nights patch, and I can get in game to test it out if I catch a lead.

Actually Vanguard needs Pixel Shader 2.0 or Higher, not 2.0 only. That would be kinda silly.

What I'm wondering is if maybe you're forcing AntiAliasing? I know that if I forced antialiasing on my card it made some of the text go a little screwey (npc names wouldn't show up) but I set it back to 'application controlled' and it went back to normal.

Let me see if I cant figure out how to do that. where are the options for it?

Have you updated your video card's drivers lately?   Problems of that nature with text usually isn't a shader.   Its either a driver issue, a direct X issue or perhaps when you were playing it was a bug in the system or like the above said antialiasing.  I've not had this problem with Vanguard at all and I have a Geforce 7900 GT

Umm, well mine is in the nVidia Control Panel, it may be different if you have an ati card. Nvidia should have it in there somewhere, just make sure it's set to 'application controlled' and that you're updated to the latest drivers.

everything that they have said. and while it may be compatible with pixel shader 3.0, people have reported FPS increase when using pixel shader 2.0.

nVidia Control Panel has all the options you need.

get the latests drivers. and make the opengl/d3d options application controlled.

also, if anyone uses ATI Radeons, the Catalyst Control Center has everything you need.
