There is an official announcement that Bill Roper finally decided to kiss Namco's butt....
I have no idea what this deal means to you flagship followers,
but I have completely mixed feeling about this. I can't pinpoint exactly where.
Something feels uneasy about this whole deal.
As we all know, Namco is Japanese company, they always been. They made few hit titles in console world, has large fanbase in Japan.
Now Blizzard's product has never been known to be successful in Japan. Ask Japanese gamers what they think of Blizzard, they snub on them. We all know that Bill Roper is the Mr DIABLO which only been sold few copies over there. And lets assume that flagship's target market is NA and not Japan. Will it become successful in NA MMORPG market which currently is or will be dominated by the like of NCSoft, Vivandi, SCEO, EA, Mythic, etc?
What's your observation?
