I tried repeated to join a 0.0 corp but they were all hesitent since my char was new. Understandable so that didnt' bother me. This char just seemed to have bad luck following him where ever he went. Tough losses hurt in any game but for this guy it seemed to be his calling and being so new each loss was a relatively large loss to come back from.
o.O I see this is a very contreversial game. I'm downloading it now. wish me luck. Oh, and I do like pre heated big macs more then juicy filet mignons at 4 star restaurants. JUST KIDDING! Geez wat a wierdo.

a few days left in the trial and i jump into a kessy and see what i can find to loot. I have good luck finding stuff at the gates within a few jumps of the 0.0 entry and soon I find myself deeeeeeeeeeep into 0.0. Scanning systems as I pass through them I stumble onto a system where a skilled npc'er is killing but not bothering to gather his loot!! Jackpot, I fill my hold and soon head back to empire and get a new caracal. Well back to the killing fields ........ but ........ nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooo . . . the gate has a roving camp on it and I'm dead again *&$%%##*%*%#%!!!!! oh well this guy just can't win and is doomed to fly in crap ships since when in those nothing bad seems to happen, lol.
it seems that you learned that EVE is a harsh universe... perhaps you blew off the warning that entering 0.5< space means that you can be ganked. Apparently you havn't read about POS's or POS defenses. Every time you lose a ship when you are new you learn a new lesson... and you learn it the "hard way"... the best advice is to only fly ships you can afford to replace. because there's always someone out there who wants to kill you.
I have tried it... if you are 5 months old and combat focused you should be able to tank / kill multiple cruiser spawns in a frig. just fit an afterburner and orbit at your optimal range. Cruiser guns don't track well on frigs.
I've used this same tactic to kill multiple Sansha Battleship spawns in 0.0 (bountys up to 1.25mill apice) using a Wolf (assault frig) but that is with maxed out gunnary skills, navigation skills, tanking skills, and a full T2 NPCing fitting.( 3 gyros, providing over 220 dps)... oops i'm off topic.
I agree that the character creation process is a little drawn out... But as long as you have the 5 attributes how you want them... the rest doesn't matter much. at 5 months old, if you botched your character creation... you have probably fixed it by training skills that you wish you had started with....
Also... to avoid the whole... "i have to log in every 2 hours" thing... set a long skill to train... Frigate 4 / 5 are good ones to start with. and while you are actively online train the short ones... when you log for the day, put it on the level 5 skill.
As a completely new character still in an NPC corp... you should try to stay out of 0.0. We out in 0.0 reguard NPC corp people as alt/scouts. stick to empire/low sec for a while. try to find a mission runner corp to join. I can recomend one that i used to be a member of that operates in gallente space... they are a bunch of adorable carebears that will teach you vitrually every way to make isk without ever risking low sec.
the corp ticker is BMMB they have an office in ignebaener. they accept noobies. their 'in game' public chat channel is BMWG join the channel and introduce yourself... they should be helpful... if they are still active.
I always love it when the eve trolls so up. As always anyone that has any complaint about eve it totally messed. funny thing is even the dev's have admitted to making mistakes with the game. using your logic they must be idiots too. Here is a better idea, eve trolls go make your own post and stop bother people who would like an intelligent conversation. something you trolls are incapable of doing.
One of their admitted mistakes was making it too easy to earn money in safe space, making the game too appealing to people like... you.
Help them fix this problem. Quit today.

Yes they can dock, trade etc... thats because in 2003 the Prats (ok the GM Prats) enacted the Prat welfare program. Back then there was a big uproar because a few players (about 43) had fubared (hit -10) their avatars and were shot by concord apon entering 0.1 space. Because there was only 3000 players the Devs removed concords presence and restored the ability to enter empire and were treated as the non-criminals. Within a week you had mass Noob Kills in 1.0 space as the Prats went on a rampage. CCP promised to renstate the Criminal flagging and response but started slowly by adding gate guns and guards but also stating that with as few palyeres as there were (back then) criminal flagging was not a real problem. Read this as, we don't have that many players so we are not going to run them off.
Which alternate-universe EVE did any of this happen in? You've managed to take a few incidents from 3 years ago that you clearly have no first-hand knowledge of and twist them into this magical fantasy world to support your stupid ideas.
Just as an example, the problem with concord non-response was that the concord reaction was triggered by security status loss, not criminal action - once people were at -10.0, there was no additional sec loss, so there was no concord reaction. This was quickly patched, and the people who were abusing it were punished. Of course, this fact doesnt really mesh with your crack-addled fantasy, isn't that odd?
Did you not read my post or not understand it. This all happed exactly as i stated, in fact they even posted what they were going to do as soon as the patch hit and followed through. I was there chasing Tank for 3 hours before being podded in Amarr prime (you can still see the blaster burns on the statue). You are right they could not drop any lower so killing noobs did not cause a hit as i said in my post that had maxed out and could go no lower. The point you seem to have forgotten was that Moos actions were a direct challange in responce to the attempted break of the gate camp.
Remember they had GMs jump in to break up a gate camp,, think about that and say it slowly to youself. "The GMs jumped in to break up a gate camp" ...
See the problem is that you have been regeratating the properganda for so long that you cant see the truth anymore. Then again was it not you that posted that there was no pronblem logging on when kali went live even after it was pointed out that on the log in screen CCP stated "we know about the problem so logins will be throttled down unit it is fixed". Gezzz when you don't even beleve CCP that ther is a problem with EVE....

CONCORD protection wasnt removed from .1-.4, it was never there. Outlaws had little trouble going into empire, because they were not aggressed on sight by CONCORD, they were attacked by the faction navies (this is still the case today), which were ineffective against larger ships.
The problem with the mOo gatecamps was twofold; there was no protective cloak after jumping into a JIP, so most people died before loading the grid, and heat sinks stacked wildly with surgical strike, meaning cruisers put out absurd amounts of damage, allowing them to kill anything in seconds.
One of those things was fixed by moving the jumpin to the gate in the target system, and implementing the post-jump cloak. The other was a bug that was fixed by the introduction of the stacking penalty and the fixing of the surgical strike stacking.
Again - facts versus your insane crack-addled fantasies. Seriously though, there's no way that you're actually saying anything from first-hand experience, given how absurdly out of whack everything you say is.
I totally agree rollindutch and i think LeJohn is just a forum troll looking to spark arguments rather than intelligent conversation.
For those believeing staying safe is the way to play then I have to disagree. A week old char that went through x4 caracals isnt' so bad because it was just bad luck for most of them. Some characters are lucky and some aren't. This one definitely isn't.
the moon thing .... I was so pissed because why on earth would a noob 1 day old char have a negative standing toward anyones corp and thus have to feel the effect of their guns, especially in empire.
I will answer to this. In EVE, spies are a big problem. Nobody wants one of their enemies to come up to their POS in an alt and give detailed intellegence on how to beat it. Hence that is why that POS was set to destroy you. Nothing personal, just a matter of protection.
As far as finding a corp, I would reccomend you join a good empire corp first. Use that to gain experience and contacts, then maybe you (or even your whole corp) can enter 0.0 space in a more pernament basis.
pegasus ....... ermm .. uuumm. the pos just destroyed my ship, not my pod so IF I wanted to spy on a pos all I need to do is approach it in a pod and I can look as long as I want because POS's don't attack pods, no matter what the standing is vs the owner corp. Secondly jumping to 'that' particular moon was like 1 in 100,000, a probablity so low that it was just bery bery bad luck.
True, pods are not targeted. But even still, can you blame people for wanting to protect their property. AFter all, a pod can be easily killed, so you risk going around in one just to scout out some POS.
pirateTom, it may not seem like it, but you are playing exactly the right way! Very ballsy.
Keep it up.
The people who gank you are the ones most likely to begin respecting you and probably recruit you if you have a good or humorous outlook on things. Just have fun with it and don't measure your success by your bank account at this stage.
Whatever you do, completely ignore the people who tell you to stay in empire. They'll be there forever.
Also, never look to the forums for support, assistance or understanding. the only thing they are useful for is telling bizarre anecdotes and humorous chatlogs. Anything else is like running a gauntlet of baseball bats--even if they're right, posters are just used as pinatas. Please take this as the advice of a recovering forum whore! Whatever your thinking or whatever reservations you have, save them for ingame chatter.
I get angry at the game sometimes too. But, I have learned the hard way, it's best to never ever get in the habit of complaining about it. It will just hold you back.
If you're willing to stick with it, I think you could get into a territorial alliance pretty easily if that's your thing. You can join Eve University pretty easily, and that will look good on your char's CV. Alternately, if you are ratting and a scout comes through and you manage to safespot, then chat them up and relate your history in the game thus far. ---Ask them for advice first--- later, if you can join a gang for that evening. (Most players are really suckers for helping someone that genuinely asks for it, heh. Psychology ftw.)
Just tell them exactly what you told us about your cruisers, and scooping the loot on that Raven guy in your frig out in the boondocks.
And if you get killed anyway, laugh about it. Express that it was actually pretty cool (blah blah blah glowing admiration) and that will cement your reputation as a non-carebear.
so i finally get into my first frigate, kestral. Go to a .3 system to kill some more lucrative rats. Engage my first cruiser and after getting it into armor i need to warp out casue my cap in drained. I pick a moon randomly, warp to the moon and land on a POS. GET fXXKIN SCRAMBLED AND MY SHIP BLOWN UP?? MF ......... DOES THIS TOTALLY SUCK OR WHAT ??? FxxK THIS ... I LOG AND MY EVE EXPERIENCE IS OVER. What a load of crap to have to go through only to be put back to square one so quickly. Well I was bored anyway and bringing up a new character really sux with all the massive amounts of training required to be able to do stuff and fit your ship properly. Another thing that bugged me was that unlike in WOW where you can put up your entire skill tree at once and work out your character in EVE I had to build my character blind each step of the way. Forcing going back time and time again and then finally just setlling cause it get dam boring fast having to redo everything time and time again trying to put together a character. 33K online but loads of lag and much much difficulty logging on several times due to server lag. This was also really annoying when you have to pop in every hour or two to attending to skill training. You would think after 3 plus years they would have heard of skill queing by now. Still TOO many things that are NO fun and a pain in the butt and you are forced to do. My main account has been closed almost 6 months. I really dont' miss it and TBH it feels good to be out of the "spell". Sorry to those that profess your love for eve but the game sounds better when you are talking about it than it actually turns out to be when playing it.
agree with alot of what you said here
