Read up which class you will make.
Don't regret choosing wrong class after 40th level.
Here is the list what TO DO and NOT TO DO in LINEAGE 2:
1) When someone (very low level player) provokes you, say hitting you and stop in the next moment, DON'T try to chase him after and kill him. While some are doing this sort of thing just for curiosity and as a way of saying hi to you, some are part of organized vicious circle of so called CHAOS maker.
A lot of noobs make this mistake. Yes even those who attained level 50 often make this mistake. These breed of people usually target high level player with shinny outlook holding expensive items.
2) When you are turned RED (became a chaos) and you are holding expensive items, don't even attempt to get near Town, NPC guards, or crowded area. You have to try to be as much away possible from any white/lawful players and your energy has to be spent on looking for barren area which spawns monster not more than 2 level higher than your avatar's level. NEVER EVER attempt to try hunt mob more than 3 level or higher than your level to reduce the karma.
If you have trust worthy person that you know - could be someone from your clan, or your own friend in real life, or brothers, etc - call him over and ask him to kill you and pick up any dropped expensive items from you, if you don't think you can't handle the pressure from all these Chaos hunters.
Sometimes losing couple % of level is more worth than losing expensive item which could often mean your entire labour in the game.
3) At the beginning of the game, partying isn't recommanded way of hunting unless you are playing with a healer or buffer and going for a little tougher monster than you can possibly handle alone.
4) If you are human, don't waste your money (5k adena) to travel to mainland, wait until you reach level 25+, 30+. Mainland monsters near GLUDIN area are no joke.
5) First try to finish map quest. You need map to walk around and find things more quickly....

I'm going for either Silver Ranger or Phantom Ranger. One of the two.
You have to know LINEAGE 2 is very I mean very balanced game. 2 months of K beta, and 7 months of P2P actually helped a lot in balancing the overall class system.
However it is by no mean a perfect balance. There is no such thing as perfect balance.
For instance SR has way more advantage on mob hunting in solo than Melee class and running away from potential PKer or from CHAOS manhunt due to the simple fact that they are the fastest runner.
If someone ends up chasing you while you turned red, this attribute is critical asset to your class.
Being able to be out of reach could mean million evade skills.
Now Lineage 2 developer already announced that they will adjust class a bit more for Chronicle 1
Then PR will become quite more attractive then. Note they are second fastest running class.
Expect a lot of people going for PR.
SR isnt fastest runner... SwordSinger is (206 run speed w/run speed song) tha guys like a bullet o_0
and all rangers (PR, SR and HE) get crapped out in Chronicle 1... not really "nerfed" but their deffinatly brought down a notch... deffinatly balances things out ALOT
if ur going elf i would suggest going SwordSinger... they may seem weak now, but after chronicle 1, practically every party needs one... their buffs are crazy ntm they can hold their own in a fight (especially if fully self buffed o_0)

I don't know how this calculate to actual speed but that's what I heard.

Guys there are overwhelming people in all four servers.
In several occations they had to disconnect all server.
In DE area where I m currently playing It's so crowded that you can't even find a monsters. They are all taken.
So my suggestion is try to go 4th server or other server when they come in place within couple of days
NCSoft guys has clearly underestimated the number of players will be in opening hours.

100% positive... SR IS faster if nobody applies self buffs (lol like that ever happens) but SS is the fastest self buffed class in the game with 206 speed...

Consider this Half Time report of sort.........................
8 of my friends that I know tried to login to server since last sunday. Some of them did finally logged in while most of them did not.
If you are facing similar problem, here is some things that I could suggest you to do.
1) First check the official website www.lineage2.com to see whether the servers are online or offline.
2) If the server you are trying to login is online but you failed to login nonetheless. Keep trying.
If you can't get in, that means the server is full and overcrowded. No room for more players.
This is what happened to most of my friends. Essentially you have to wait till someone leave the server.
Now for those in the game:
1) First try to do MAP quest and then Sword/Dagger quest.
Every race has their own weapon quest. This quest will boost your level up speed at the beginning.
2) Think before you go to town store. You will end up spending a lot of time in store due to the lagging caused by overcrowding.
3) Blood Pledge (Clan) is created by asking an NPC and not from your own menu.
4) Be aware of thief mercants. I've seen some guys selling short bow (only 800 adenas from the store) for 7k at DE town. They come in group. I think they are even organized circle of players trying to rip off from noobs.
These guys are worse than PKer. Try to avoid being ripped off from these guys. Always check the price from the store first.
