Would this run on a 1.7 processor, 128 Radeon with 1 gig of RAM? Or would it be s*%^ ugly? Anyone? Looks tight otherwise!

You should be OK. Youd probly be able to play at best on balanced (average) settings, but VSoH is such a beautifull place, those balanced settings would look like maximum settings in most current MMOs

my CPU is amd 64 3000+ running at 1.8ghz and VSoH runs just fine with my NvIdia GeForce 7950gx2

There isnt much difference between 1.8ghz and 2.4, so im guessing the better videocard compensate for the bad CPU. UNLESS the cpu is one grade below (p4 1.8 ghz compared to p3 1.8 ghz is a BIG difference)

Ok listen mate, because i have EXACTLY the same computer (and gfx card)

I played the whole BETA trying to figure will the game work for me.

    Ok here is the deal.

First of you will apsolutely MUST tweak the ini file. Than the game becomes playable and decent looking. I even had high hopes i will be able to play it...

But than I undestood it was a fools hope.

    why?

Well i was getting 15 to 25 fps. Which is very playable (after all it is not shooter game) , problem is LOADING! Or what people

    allready call HD hitching.

Because of our low memory , this loading is almost constant .. which makes you FREEZE in spot every time it happens. And it happens often.

But to make things even worse. When this happens to often GAME CRUSHES!

Now I also wanted to be a little masochist and go buy the game anyway.

But you see ... The game is very hard and unforgiving. If you die you have to do a long and hard corpse run.

And you are going to die due to - crushes, and hitching-

So in conclusion , the game is unplayable with this system

Dont expect to see much eye candy, i think it will look like EQ1 and lag alot...this game has sooo much to offer on the high end cards rigs, but on the low end machines, it really looks like crap....dont be turned off by the game with what your going to see with that setup

So I'm hoping I can get the graphics to reasonably high with my system but with these types of games I usually expect some framerate problems.

    Pentirum4 Processor 3.00Hz

    2gb of Ram

    XFX Nvidia Geforce 7800GS.

I hope I can, but to be honest when I played SWG my computer was total rubbish but I still had so much fun so I will probably enjoy it.

I would recomend the balanced setting. That will get you decent looking textures etc and still be have a decent FPS. There is really not all that much noticible difference between balanced and high quality anyway.

I have played the game on highest settings and lowest. When I set it to lowest settings ("High Performance")  it still looked pretty damn good dude. No kidding. Try setting it to High Performance (lowest settings) but turn the Far Clipping Pane to max. Also, $45.00 for an extra GIG of RAM is no hardship for anyone. RAM is cheap, got an extra GIG of duel channel RAM for relatively nothing. eBay has lots of sweet deals too. Try places online like NewEgg, Tiger Direct, etc., for some good deals.

  • This game needs 3GB of ram? most games don't need 2GB of ram. In which I have?

He already has two gig, a third would be useless in XP. Edit you beat me to it but windows XP only recognizes two gig

No, I just meant for those who have 1 GB or less. Was directed toward JTShultzy.
