sounds like a good idea...

in this game, the economics is going to make this game very good. It will make the game a kind of realistic sence too it. I personally can't wait to check it out and see how it worksimage

Yes, the economics is definitely one of the concepts that I'm looking forward to trying out. What I like is that there are no "auto-generated" items. Any item that is in the game has to be created by a player. This gives love to trade skillers that are otherwise shunned in other games. Also, it gives a realistic feel to things. If two factions go to war everyone makes a profile from the increase in gun and ammunition sales. This is by far the most realistic MMORPG concept I have seen.

    From the last post,

From what i was hearing, the game sounds even better then i already thought it would be, i think people should just put down DAOC, Everquest and all those other games, and go to a newer one such as this, stop living in a fantasy, and pick up a gun and play this game.

Haha... well I'm sure people play what they do because of personal tastes. For instance, I am looking forward to FoM because of the SciFi/Deus Ex feel. People play Everquest-type games because they like the fantasy aspect. I personally don't like all that magic, etc - I prefer realism over fantasy. So, I would invite anyone into SciFi (Blade Runner, etc) to give Face of Mankind a try. If you come to FoM expecting Knights and Warlocks, I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place.

Fantasy Games are alright, but kind of boring, people that annoy me are the ones who won't even give it a chance because they are set to one game, they should look into something and relize there are better games out their then what they are playing.

Like d3ik said, the game reminds me of Deus Ex. The sci-fi feel with all of the different companies and factions competing with each other. To me it almost seems like Deus Ex Online, although missing a few things such as aliens and all the international conspiracies.

It's funny you should say that:

    There will be aliens.

Also, I have it on very good authority that the organizations don't exactly get along. There will be all kinds of corporate secrecy, back stabbing, and conflict. There will be shadow organizations and secret governments. Not to say this is a copy of Deux Ex, but Duplex makes no secret that Deus Ex and other games/movies from the SciFi genre were a big influence on the concept for FoM... although the execution (read the forums) itself is one of a kind.

Oh so there will be aliens. I should start reading all the stuff on their website soon... Do you know if there are nanobots or Illumanti?

Well, no nanobots or Illuminati perse...

One similarity is the implant system in Face of Mankind. Each implant runs off BioCells (like Deus Ex), which are equipped similar to ammo to a gun. The implants range from Night Vision to leg exoskeletons, and are produced by players (as are all items). There are no Illuminati by name, but many of the shadow organizations could easily be compared to Illuminati. They are the all powerful puppet masters of all the Presidents and Executive Officers that run the various companies. While the Presidents do have control over their corporations, they rely on the shadow organizations for certain unmentionable resources.... anyway suffice to say there is a lot to the game. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

I dont quite understand how this economy is going to work without NPCs, what if the players go on strike for some odd reason (possibly no health benefits?) But how are us lowly peons supposed to get our daily fix of ammo!

    Silly Frok...

Those who didn't go on strike would make enormous amount of money...  people will sell as long as there are people who buy.

One reason why this game looks awesome, is because the realistic idea of it.  I think this game will be the better of the ones just starting to come out and are going to be released soon or within the next few months.  The economy looks really good too image

Will people setup vendor's like on everquest, or will you be able to have your own NPC so you dont have to leave your computer on all the time or will it just be people selling in the streets?

There is a market terminal similar to the system used in SWG for example. You just put your items up the market, and people can check em out and buy them even when you are not online.

As d3ik said, there are aliens.  Also, the different groups are technically at war.  The LED (police) activelly try to kill the Brotherhood (clan of FoM.  Not a player-made.  So far, I don't remember seeing anything on player-made clans), as do the other govermental forces (all of which are playable, as I understand.  You can be the Brotherhood, too, along with the other clans.  You can even have the war of companies and fight for control of key trading locales)!  This game will be awesome.  Just hope I can scrounge the money to buy it when it comes out.
