Trial seems good

Well, I'm trying the trial for the first day and the whole nature and art-style is currently keeping me hooked. Now my problems are:

1. Are there enough players in this game so it wouldn't die out? And are there also players from low levels, mid levels and high levels?

2. Is this game hardcore or is it suitable for a casual one since sometimes I can't give the game more time than 3 hours.

3. Is it instance based game like WoW? Instance runners=winners, casuals=losers?

4. The new quest creator that was installed into game? Is it good and fun? Do a lot of people use it?

No questions currently come into my mind at the moment, but maybe you can give me some advices or not. I'm pretty much bored of World of Warcraft and I want something different.

Hiya sushimees. I'll try to answer your questions.

    1. There was enough players before Nevrex was liquadated and Gameforge took over that Ryzom made a profit over the expense of running it, they just couldn't pay off the debt from development. Now Gameforge doesn't have that debt so Ryzom is looking stable.

There are players at all levels, with the way the skill trees work a player with a really high skill in one line will still have lots of others he might be looking to increase. So each player can end up low mid and high all on one character.

    2. Personaly I'd say it is a mix. I'm a casual player and I don't feel I'm lossing out on fun because I don't play as much.

    3. The only instances are the ones made with the Ryzom Ring mission editor. Otherwise there are none. Also nearly all the equipment in game is player crafted and while a casual player might take longer to get or make the nice stuff I can't see a reason a casual player can't get them or make them.

    4. I don't know myself. I tend not to ue it myself so I have no idea how used it is. I know the roleplayers are having fun with it.

Also as a last point the mainland isn't quest based like the starting island. The starting island uses those missions to teach you how the game works but can be misleading as to how the mainland works. I still find the mainland alot of fun but it does rely on you deciding what you want to do not seeing where the quests take you.

i just answer the 4th as the other are always answered. The Ring is actually fun if you like to create your own quest, a feature no other mmo has implemented. The editor is cool but need a bit of practice. Actually there no many scenarios running (they are mostly guilded organized) because the owner must stay into it to have it available to other players, wasting xp time if you don't organize before (you cannot get xp into player made scenarios). I know this was planned to change from Nevrax and, i think, Gameforge will follow the same path, to allow player to publish semi or total permanent scenarios.

Final note: if you played WoW, consider that Ryzom is pretty much harder, because you are not driven thru the game by quests, but you are free to do anything you feel for the day.

I have an alt char in Silan, Tamys. Feel free to contact me, if u see me ingame :)
