Servers came up at the time advertised and have been up now for 3 hours without a hitch.
Performance is fantastic....hell, I havent even experienced any hitching.
Nothing changed since the closed beta...less people signed on than in beta...and the launch date is not until the 30th.
Those are the reasons it launched smooth.
Server populations are about half "low" andhalf "medium". None of them have reached "high", but each server's capacity is somewhere in the neighborhood of 3000-5000 players each. Across 12 servers, that puts my estimate of players at tens of thousands.
With tens of thousands of players playing at this very moment, I'm going to say that preorder has proven that Vanguard's server architexture is stable enough to handle a launch.
There comes a point where you're not a hater so much as living in denial.
Now if only we can figure out what's going on with these mysterious missing characters. I haven't been unfortunate enough to encounter this myself, but if entire characters are going missing for more than 5% of the players, I'm going to say this qualifies as a minor train wreck. Unless those characters were either never lost or promptly restored.

...and as a beta tester.. I love the new combat effects. some of the new special effects. I also love the fact that I can run the game on "balanced" now as opposed to a severerly tweaked "highest performance" *ini. actually runs better now on "balanced" then it did with my tweaked "high performance" ini
*edit* and as a side note.. yes.. this isnt the "launch". they still have 4 days to tweak this .. lol..silly trolls

My expeirience so far has been awesome. Only one of the many quest i did have a problem, and the game is running smoothly on my medocre system. There are also lots of people everywhere I have been. It's been a blast. I played almost none stop from 2:00 to 2:00 and never had any major gripes. Not even any medium ones. This roll out is being done right. Sorry the EU servers didnt come up at thought, but that seems to be a minor issue as this is pre release. Well done Sigil.
Crap getting sleepy got home from work logged in and the game is smoother and looks better. Been playing for 8 hours now and having a blast. One nice change from beta is that work orders give good money!!! Showed the game to some friends and they ran out and bought it. This is gonna be GOOD!
Very smooth launch, apart from the slow tuning on of the EU servers.
Not seen one server crash yet in 3 hours.
Not seen any lag in 3 hours.
Sound effects, animations, textures, quests etc etc have been polished.
Not seen one bug yet, very very nice work.
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS) Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
No alot of the animations have been changed the game is truly awesome, the only way anyone would say different is if they have a hard-on for SOE. Which has nothing to do with vanguard and Sigil lol

Thank you for the reply. I really hated the animations in Vanguard, all realism in the game was destroyed by those animations. Anyway, i hope they keep fine tuning the game, specially the animations.
