Besides all the combat and graphic's of the game, just a curious question, is this a RolePlaying  type of game? or is it basically do what u want to do..'freestyle' type of play? As well as what will the point of the game be....like do you have to kill and take other kingdoms? Like is there a end type play??? just curious...any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

this game is going to be great for roleplaying.  especially for the Evil and good characters people like to play.

Any game is a roleplaying game, some just are easier to do so in.

In any case, Funcom has a reputation for extremely well written, detailed and complex storylines, heck, their single player game Dreamfall was much more an interactive story than an actual game. There will be events that players can participate in, and those events will have a significant impact on the game's background tale. However, none of this is mandatory for any player to partcicipate in(although escaping unscathed from an attack on one of the main cities might be tough), and there are few if any preset paths to follow.

The world of Hyboria is a rich one, with plenty for a roleplayers to draw from. However, unlike what the above poster suggested, there is no good and evil, only lighter and darker shades of grey.

The focus of the endgame revolves around the sieging and defense of cities. There are two varieties, a PvE keep pits you and your city against a swarming "hive" of AI mobs that steadily grows stronger the longer you let it. Said hive continues to strike out at your keep with stronger and stronger groups, untill you return the favor and raze their city to the ground. The bigger their city though, the better the rewards for razing it, it becomes a balancing act between how much attrition you think you can handle and the desire for greater loot.

A PvP keep is essentially the same in form and function, only in that case it pits you up against half a dozen or so other player cities.

In both cases, the long term reward of controlling the area is in terms of the collection of valuable resources.
