My Review of SWG

The game was fun for a while but after about 2 or 3 months everything started getting old. I had a lot of fun talking to people and making friends but other than that the profession system wasnt all that great. Ever sence the jedi's came out and the holocrons were sent out for free i decided to quit. :'(  This game kept me busy for a LONG time but once everyone was really good it got boring.  The fist few days of the game when everyone was new was so fun! The grinding was the worst part of the game.  Overall i would recomend buying the game!

Well i cancelled a whiel back. It started off good and i got myself a master weaponsmith....then started a TKA/CH but the grind did me in. Crafting sucked int he long run couldnt sell stuff....shop to update, harvesters and factories to maintain...i got hoem from work and felt like i was going back to work lol.

Content was lacking....there was lots of glitz but no real quests and the skills were pretty limited. The jedi idea i think was a really bad one and i like a lot of people ive seen post didnt feel very starwarsy playing it.

I think this one is best left to the die hard star wars fan

I've been playing since August 1st, so I'm not a grandfather player.  Close though.  Initially, the game was addictive as there was so much to learn.  I was ignorant to the bugs as I was so new to it.  The game to me is an abuse of a great license so far.  It may become the greatest MMORPG in the future, but not anytime soon at the rate its going.

There is no true galactic civil war, just griefing civil war.  Maybe that's what GCW stands for.  If its not the bugs, its the bad design or absent minded solutions to real game issues.  Judging by the kinds of solutions they provide, and the patches that never seem to work right, I'm convinced that the developers look for the solution that requires the least amount of work.  Not what's best for the game or its players.

You don't see anyone wearing Storm Trooper armor as its stats don't compare to the uni-faction composite armor.  Few people play their roles.  Rebels terrorize neutral cities, which in effect would cause them to lose political points and then lose the war.  AT-STs are nerfed, but riflemen can take them out easily.  TKA can knock you down from an odd distance.  Combat Medics can turn the tides of war not by their healing abilities, but by their poisons.  Bases and turrets don't work and are not worth spending faction points on.  We're decommissioning all 14 of our bases.  There is a game wide boycott of bases happening.

The jedi holo-grind was ad bad idea.  It was suppose to be a random quest or something that your character would unlock by meeting certain criteria.  Instead they made it a profession grind and called it content.  Speaking of which, there is no content.  The amount of griefing which can be done in this game is overwhelming and I wonder if other MMORPGs are like this.

For most people, this is a red vs blue, shot the red dot, game.  It maybe a great game later on, but I've had it.  Broken promises, patches that never work the 2nd time, let alone the first.  I'll be quitting at the end of April after I tie up loose ends with the guild I lead.  From there, I'll return much later on when the game is worth playing and there is an actual galactic civil war.

In the mean time, I would not encourage this to even the most die hard fans.  Give it at least a year.  Maybe two.
