I can't always go to outdoors while juggling with classes, work, and living in the city. Whats a good MMORPG for adventuring, sight seeing, and dungeon crawling?
But as it is right now. Released to early. Not finished and empty.
And most of all you will need top of the line PC to play it. (2gig ram is minimum)
With that covered - Vanguard is the hugest land mmo ever- no instancing huge travel times - you get horse almost emidialtely , you can build ship and sail the seas, and at high levels you get flying mounts and fly freely where ever you want....
And dungeons are also very big...
Well it all sounds good, but as said , the game is not finished
Except of that ... i would recomend WoW - It is smaller but beautifuly designed , and full of little details for the exploring type

Oh lordies. Wasn't that game supposed to have like hundreds of miles of empty terrain and mountains and uninhabited...everythings? lol.
I only played Everquest (original) for two months, but I have to say that it was pretty freaking huge, and there were lots of things to see. I'd also say DAoC has some nice huge areas to explore, dungeons to get your ass kicked in too, lool.ol.
If you are one that isn't into graphics being like Vanguard, i'd say try Asherons Call. That game world is HUGE. And you'll get lost lol. But uh, yeah, there are dozens and dozens of dungeons in it. Lots of "out of the way" places to see...
Regarding "exploring and traveling" I shamefully have to admit that World of Warcraft is yet to be beaten in that. If you want to play a ranger you could chose the hunter what would be the very best option for a traveler. As a hunter you can track various types of creatures on your minimap what makes it possible for you to avoid unwanted enemy contact.
Final Fantasy XI is pretty good in that part too I think but I'd only pick that one if you want to play on an Xbox360.
Yeah but I miss the ranger profession; I haven't played in awhile, is there anything close to ranger?
You don't need to be a ranger to explore You can hop on a mount, speeder or just walk in a random direction and eventually stumble across something you've never seen before.
Last word was that Camps and such would be re-implemented with a new purpose in Chapter 5. It's been a few months since that was said though so it may have changed.

Star Wars Galaxies.
Most of the game is outdoors, tons of waypoints to landmarks, and not much dungeons, but the inside of the enemy NPC bases are pretty big.
Don't go near the pile of flaming poo called SWG.
It was sopposed to be Vanguard
