Help with latency

Sin-Sin- Member Posts: 79
Ive decided to hit the boards with this question due to the fact that blizzards support didnt really help at all. Ive been playing WOW:BC since release and everything was fine and dandy till this past saturday. On sat. I noticed that my game was shuttering and my latency was in the red(for the first time). Then after playing like that for awhile, I would just get disconnected all together. From saturday on now I start with a green ping, till about 5 mins into the game it goes to red and all hell breaks loose. I uninstalled my anti-virus, checked my bandwidth, and contacted wow but nothing has worked. I dont want to uninstall the game and go through 8 hrs of installation and patches but now Im thinking thats the only thing left I can try. Oh, ya I did that whole thing with unplugging the router and modem and that hasnt helped either. Can someone help me out with this plz =-) Any help would be appreciated

    1. Start WoW and when you start to see bad latency, open Task Manager to see if Blizzard background downloader is running.

I had extremely poor performance for about a week, when another player suggested this.

    2. Delete the following folders in the World of Warcraft directory: Addons and WTF.

This will completely remove any UI mods. Both folders will automatically be created once you login.

Oh, cruel fate, to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones. It bones for thee.

Check also your router to see if it blocks the addresses that WoW uses. I think the support page of blizzard has some info's on that so it should be no problem tweaking it a bit.

A friend is not him who provides support during your failures.A friend is the one that cheers you during your successes.
