Hello,
I'm currently downloading the trial and I would like to know some information about the game.
First, whats the games community like? I've heard of this Realm vs Realm fighting and have no idea how thats meant to work.
Second, Are there such things as player housing? or player cities?
Is DAOC something different to every other mmorpg out today. What other key information would be of interest to me?

So far the community has been nice to me and some random people gave me some clothes that id never have got myself at my level and helped me out killing a few mobs aswell i was struggling with.
RvR as far as i gather is once you are at the PvP zone its a massive land split into three territories Albion Hibernia and Midgard, Each of these realms controls there own teritory full of castles and keeps an dthe other realms try to attack these and take them over, large scale battles ensue and from what ive seen from a friend its quite fun.
I think there is player housing but im not sure.
When choosing your server be aware that servers gareth lamorak and ector are classic servers and dont have the content from the Trials of atlantis enabled, that beign said these are the most populated servers so thats where i rolled my character.
RvR is the shit!
Well it's what makes DAoC really fun at the end of the day, not that the PvE content is bad at all I have enyojed it very much.

This is the top players on the US-servers, but you can also see who earned most points this week and what your guild earned together.
And yes there are huge housingzones on every server/cluster

DAoC is different to other games because of it's PvP system, or RvR rather. It's the only game that actually has an end game.
If you are playing on the US roleplaying cluster send me a PM here with your char name and I can answer any questions you might have in game.
Community/other players - for the most part very friendly and helpful.
Housing - yes on all 3 realms.
Player cities - each realm has a captiol city, plus villages. These are not taken by the other realms and are safe anywhere - not sure about the Mordred server though - havn't played there.
RvR - the best rvr begins at level 20 or so - in Thidranki battleground. It has also become more and more competitive but a new player can still have a good time there. There are higher level battlegrounds (bgs) as you level also. New Frontiers is the major place to RvR - but not to be excluded as RVR zones are Darkness Falls, Passage of Conflict, and the new Labyrinth of the Minotaur.
Even without the endless *ToA or not arguement* - there is also a large amount of PvE to be explored. Drops of armor and weapons arent the best at this point but still handy for awhile. Not the same as wow either.
Whatever server you choose leaving the starter guild and getting involved in a guild is a good thing to do.
