Starting Trial

I'm about to start the trial, while I downloaded it I read some official reviews and watched one for G4TV. Some of the reviews said that you could hardly find a player because noone played, I'm guessing the reviewers didn't bother to go to any main locations of battle and they just ran around the map aimlessly right?

Another thing that's been perplexing me, is that when you go to the main page it has the Combatants in the Field for the past 15 minutes, with little boxes that are either colored or grey. What does it mean when they're grey, that they're available?

There is always a battle going on somewhere 24-7.

When you get to the screen where you pick either french, brit or germ, air, sea or land just choose which one you want to be.  Lets say you choose British Ground forces.  A map will come up look for cities that have little red tanks and army men near them.  That is a city where a major battle is going on.  Hover your curser over the city and see what brigade is fighting there.  Choose that brigade and look for a mission that has its status bar filled the most.  That means that mission is the most populated or the most used mission.  If it has a little truck next to it that means you will not have to go far to see action.  That is a mobile spawn point close to the action.  Choose that mission and join in the fun.

The little boxes are a representation of  how many players are playing that particular service.  The boats are naval, tanks armor, army men inf, planes air planes.  It is a percentage representation.  There could be 1000 people on and only 10% playing axis navy etc.  The colored ones are what matters.  The side with the most colored icons has the most players playing that particular armed force.

The best way to get help is to join a squad even temporarily.  You can change later.  Your squadies should help you stay alive and score kills.  If not join another squad.  You can alway ask questions on the help channel.  There should be someone there to answer your questions 24/7.

Check out the 333rd British Knights at 333rd.org .  We always looking for new squadies.

Go here for a kind of encyclopedia on WWII online called a Wiki       http://wiki.wwiionline.com/index.php/Main_Page

I just found a new simpler way once you get to the brigade map find a city with those little red tanks and inf symbols.  Right click on the flag and a box will come up.  Just choose to join that brigade and then you will go to the mission selection page.  Use as directed.

You must already have a brigade chosen and be on the brigade map.  From there it works for all brigades.

I might need to get a new computer or something since my computer from 2001 isn't doing a very good job with this game, plus I'm needing a new one anyways.. I thought putting a gig of ram and a better vid card in would power just about anything out but I get about 15-20 fps in this game in the wilderness with the settings at max performance. I was trying to sneak around and look for the enemy but I always seem to get killed and even at night I couldn't seem to see muzzle flashes or gunfire except for some weird looking tracers so I disabled the box that said 'Supress Muzzle Light'. Kinda frustrating, I'm really just trying this game out to see if my computer can handle it in the big battles and I don't really think it can or I'm just not doing very good. It's hard to really see anything out in the distance, hard to tell if something is a bush or an enemies head.. it's a little darkish out even in the day.

About the whole squad thing.. I'm not too sure about that because I really like playing the underdog sides at proper moments and plus I don't get much time to play games just a bit on the weekend and I heard that some squads want you to be on eight hours a day.

Eight hours aday? Never heard of such silly demands before, and I have played this game since 2002.

This game is played by players who works. The avarage age is +30 years. So besides a few persons has the regular player not the time to play that much.

The squad I belong to – Kampfgruppe Wiking, aka KGW – has a demand that you play regularely on squad nights. KGW's Squad nights is  Sundays and Wednesdays and runs approximately for four to five hours. It is not a demand to attend every Squad Night, but it is requested that you play regularely on this occations.

Beside the squad nights is there no other demand on a soldier. The Officers and NCOs also has other duties outside Squad Nights, but that is a whole other story since most KGW-members isn't Officers or NCOs. KGW has some 150 members last time I checked so we muster some 50 - 70 members each Squad Night.
