Well I will definately agree the game's not perfect. Some people don't like the animations, I think they're decent. There are a few things I don't like about the game, such as the missing Inquisitor class (really wanted to be one of these), fellowships not being enabled, and they recently made Civic Diplomacy too hard.
No game is perfect. Vanguard certainly isn't perfect either. However, it's probably as close as I've found so far.
"Because it's easier to nitpick something than to be constructive." -roach5000
I have to agrre evrything i have seen from vanguard looks yummy, and in all honesty i only found out about it a week ago while checking random developments, ordered it straight away disregarding the hate and flames,
Opinions are like bellybuttons, everyone has one and they all smell of cheese
And you guys think we're confused about what's wrong with Vangaurd huh? More like VanGAI!!!

This is as close as you've seen to a perfect game? Seriously? Are you talking about the concept of Vanguard or the game as it is today?
So what is so evolutionary about this POS, The corpse runs? The bugs? The poor performance? The lack of solo quests? The slow leveling?
Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion of course. You dont seem to like Vanguard. Strangely enough you keep bashing people who do like it. You know as well as I do, that whatever you say wont make them stop playing that game.
Try to have some fun instead with a game you like. If you were one of the people who had high hopes for the game and is now disappointed, then you have a disturbing way of dealing with that. Hating people for liking something, that is as immature as you can get.
Good morning Blur, your shift on spin control? Please link a post where I launch personal attacks, I attack the game not the people thank you very much
and also I am sooo confused about this complexity, explain what is so complex about the game please. All I see are massive time sinks and first generation design. Other than the mini card game of diplomacy everything in Vanguard was done in EQ, Dark and Light and Horizons,,,boring
Lot s of time sinks do not make a game complex, they just make empty servers.
Hate to burst your bubble there trollie but the only thing I wrote there was the smiley. I know it benefits you to lie to people and try and make me out to be an employee of SOE or some other stupidly inane thing like that, but the truth is I just know how much bullshit you're spouting.
Infact, why don't you put your money where your mouth is, so to speak.. Tell me of an MMO feature that can't be dismissed as a "time sink". You don't seem to understand that MMOs as a genre are time sinks. If I didn't have to spend time earning anything, what kinda game would it be?
As for EQ and Horizons, I wouldn't blame Sigil for taking some of the better features of those games and incorporating them into their game. If it works, and is fun, why avoid it?
For me it doesn't matter if the game is buggy or the coding is flawless. It doesn't matter if it's hardcore or carebear. It doesn't matter if it's group oriented or solo oriented. It doesn't matter if it's a WoW clone or the antithesis of Wow.
There is one reason I won't play this game: SOE.
You can argue until you're blue in the face about how they are only providing hosting for the servers and technical support. After what they did to SWG I won't have anything to do with them. If one penny of a subscription fee is going to SOE for anything I won't be there.
It's too bad because when this game was in development I was very excited about it but as soon as they sold their souls to SOE I was done. You'll wish you had my foresight when SOE takes over the game and pulls an NGE on you and it *will* happen.
I love the game, i do see more and more bugs... warrior is extreamly buged, sometimes unplayable, they need get these bugs fixed insted of making new ones
We all know that the community in Vanguard is top notch, the world is beautiful, the game is great now and has the potential to become even better. Why all the hate? I've seen more posts trying to bash the game in any which way. Most of the time, these are spawned by a one time occurance. Think of it like walking down a sidewalk in a new neighborhood and someone shouts out their car window, "Go home!" Does this mean everyone in that neighborhood thinks this way?
(For all of you that support Vanguard, feel free to post, and keep it alive. I'm tired of seeing hate thread titles posts on the main page with Vanguard next to the name. Don't even comment on them and let them die.)
...call it a social experiment.
Top notch community? thier community is a brother''s to WoW.

Sometimes i wonder why people post on this forum. Fair enough you dont like vanguard but theres no need posting on this forum and trying to bash the game. Why do people spend time coming on this forum and saying "this game suxs". I mean seriously give it a rest and go back to WOW or what ever you play. geezz.
As far as the SWG comments go - I was a SWG fan too. It killed me when it died. I truly am sad... that game still means more to me than most other games ever had.
However, the SOE team was not really the one to blame. It was LucasArts.
Remember how fast Ralph Koaster moved on...? The people who made the dream of SWG where moved quickly. Maybe they thought it was a dead end... who knows.
Hopefully Sigils people wont "leave" vanguard in the cold.

It may have been LucasArts who pushed the NGE but it was SOE who implemented it and they are the ones who have done such a poor job of managing it.

The Sean Austin team that created SWG... Do you think they where happy about it? Blame john smedly and so on.
Here is how it works - they look at wow and they see the succes. the higher anarchies of SOE wants to have a part of the score. they start focus groups of casual gamers. casual gamers who like console action games... fast paced arcadey games like diablo 2 and wow. = tada, and you got the NGE.
It did not matter what the Sean Austin guys said. anyone who was JTL beta could see posts of the guys saying that if they would not release the game, they would loose their jobs.
this crusade you got going is stupid... its like the people boycotting coca-cola, mcdonalds, 7/11 and so on.. It serves no purpose. SOE dont care..
and what did sigil ever do to you? I doubt that you are so political correct that you would really hate SOE so much because of one or two screw ups who did not know how to handle an MMO. there are tons of good people at SOE.
Dont act like that they are all evil sadists. thats just stupid generalization.

What does being mad at SOE about how they handled the NGE have anything to do with political correctness?
And if Sigil had gone with *any* other company I wouldn't have a problem with them but they chose to go with SOE. I'm sure there are tons of good people at SOE but I've never dealt with them--I never played Everquest or any of their other games. I know how they handled SWG and that's enough to make me avoid them in the future.
At some point you have to stop paying companies who treat their customers like dirt.

You sound like that, SOE killed your father and raped your mother or something. What you are saying are all in the eye of the beholder. The game still has people playing, and apparently people who also welcome the new changes.
If you feel like that you have been treated like dirt, then maybe you should stop playing MMOs all together! All MMOs evolve. We can argue that SWG changed for the worse, but change is important, and I doubt they intentionally decided to piss off other people. Pretty much any MMO through change, has the abillity to become either good and worse, and SWG had groundbreaking changes and implantation of new systems, like player cities, mounts, vehicles, politician and the JTL - And many of these things where implanted with amazing ambition. CU and NGE where failures, but I think your reading way to much into it.
The game is gone, and now you seem to argue just for the sake of arguing, or for being mr opposite. In the end I don't think you care. At least I don't hope so. It's being completely petty, getting frustrated and boycotting companies over something like this. Particularly on such unfounded claims.
This is a really disappointing game for me. I don't get the framerate problems that people seem to be mentioning at all but I do get crashes to the character select screen about every 5 minutes caused by a myriad of things from just walking into a building, running around outside, trying to craft, talking to npcs, etc etc.
I think the default graphic setting is pretty low because the graphics really are lack-luster for me - it just doen'st look good. Will try adjusting the graphic settings when my annoyance factor has gone down from the constant crashes.
No, I don't care that it's SOE. I had no idea what SOE was until I got the game and noticed the acronym on the starting credits. So, I don't have any preconceived notions about SOE.
My computer is on the upper end and meets all the preferred system settings.
Don't know what to say other than it's very disappointing so far. Will give it some more tries until the 10-day expiration runs out but it's looking more and more like I wasted $50.
I do, however, like the amount of classes and races and the character customization. The classes also seem varied enough to allow for a lot of fun.
