I was just going to leave this thread but, but the saying "WoW is fast and rewarding" made me laugh.
Raiding every day of the week for 5 hours is FAST and REWARDING? When the loot tables are SO LOW for X item, when there over 20 people to help? The chance of YOU getting your "reward" is slim.
Fast and rewarding? The point of the game is raiding, and getting gear. Neither is fast, it's just doable.
I'm gonna give examples of some more complex gaming:
EVE, SWG, Ryzom, Guild Wars, DNL, DaoC and many more that I haven't played that much. Yes, I add Guild Wars, because there's so much difference in how the skills works in that game. They are primairly built on skills from the user than anything else. They might seem weird to new players but after a while you get used to them and you start loving them and start knowing all the different combinations you can make with them.
And this is where you make a HUGE mistake. None of those games are harder then WoW. they are less accessible, they are not harder in any way or form. they don't require more skill then WoW does.
But that's the whole point, "less accessible" is "harder". I am not talking about SKILLS (other than Guild Wars). I'm talking about what the game offers and at what rates and how easy the different platforms of goodies are to reach.
I actually said "more complex" than "takes more skill". I only explained how GW works.
Trust me GW is the only "level-item" RPG so far I've seen that actually involves reaction, coordination and such features to be successfull. It's waaay ahead of the other MMORPG's in what it requires from YOU to be successfull.

Maby if you slowed down a little you'd notice that most of the "fast-and-rewarding" comes directly from the start. I agree the end-game requires tons of time to progress. But it's the FAR (fast-and... ya know) in the start who hook-up the most players and keeps em there.

If the "less accessible" factor is the only arguement here that is supposed to make WoW more easy then other MMO's, then I think that only further proves my arguement that WoW isn't more easy or harder then other MMO's.

<< Lol all theese windows ^^ Anyway, we all got different opinions upon what's truly hard. But one thing for sure, WoW doesn't have is a game where failure means punishing.
In EVE if you die, you loose your entire ship (if you're lucky otherwise it gets nastier). In WoW, you run back to your corpse and loose some condition on your gear. So you can always afford to try out "killing mob X" since you know you'll just do fine whatever happends.
Also in EVE, buying something might be a complete adventure on it's own. It's stunnishing how much information you get by just wanting to buy some more ammo for your weapons. In WoW, you have an auction house which you walk up to, do some fast browsing and buy what you want to buy, and it will cost what it costs.
In SWG, players craft weapons, clothes, armor, houses, vehicles ... ok ok let's just say everything. The crafting in SWG is "harder" than in WoW because you have to go through a much more indepth sequence to successfully craft what you intended to craft. In WoW, you find the pieces you need, and assemble.
In GW, there is multiclassing. So you never ever really can know what you're up against to in a fight. "What?! Did that warrrior just throw a fireball at me?" In WoW, there's skill trees, but in general you always know what to expect from your opponent by looking at his class.
In Ryzom, you make your own skills. You choose pro's and con's and then it's merged together as one skill you are to use. In WoW, all skills works the same for everybody. Ryzom is a very exceptional case here since it's about the only game I've seen anything like it before.
WoW might offer much, but not as in-depth as theese few examples I gave. That's why it's "easier" because noting is really unclear of what's to do.
It's really pretty much like driving cars, one with manual-gears and one with automatic-gears. Both cars goes forward, but not in the same ways.

Raiding & PVP are the only alternative endgame options most MMO's offer. Housing is probably the only thing WoW lacks.
Also if you dont like raiding, dont do it, concentrate on pvp or pve.

None of that actually makes the game harder, it only increases the timesink. Losing a ship in EVE means you have to replace it with a diffrent ship, meaning you have to do something easy to make money (mining or missions)

Seems you still got tons to learn.

Actually, if you think that extremely simple things like that make the game more difficult in any way or form, then its you who has a lot to learn. and by that I mean a LOT. You really need to learn that depth, complex, and difficulty are 3 complete diffrent things.
There's nothing more to discuss. WoW doesnt offer as many things as most other games and not as in depth as some and therefore it's "easier" Notice the " marks?
If you don't know what that means it's not my problem. I don't wanna waste anymore time discussing something out of the air like this.

I don't care about your "" marks". more depth does not make the game easier, and thats that.

pomegranate is a better fruit than a fig, for a couple reasons. It is harder to pronounce and is harder to spell.
