Your character starts in an instance/tutorial, for example if you play a human you then enter a newbie version of Archet (with the town intact) with all other people level 1-6... once you reach around level 6 you receive an epic quest that burns down Archet and you enter the normal non-instanced world which is Archet left in abit of a ruin. All the other races have their own newbie version, just obviously more appropriate a storyline for say Hobbits in the Shire.

Theres no loading screens when running around Middle Earth between areas and eveyone is together, so not like GW with your own seperate copy, its more your standard mmorpg, so you can end up waiting for spawns of some named characters. But theres alot of cool instance group and epic quests at all levels (more than WOW has) that move along the storyline for you... like Weathertop which you can explore normally and later receive an instance quest to fight Orcs/Trolls and retake it.

I hope i dont get my 3rd account banned from commenting on a LOTRO post but the outside world is seemless, but as said the start is instanced, most building like inns etc are instanced, also some caves are instanced.

A little more instancing than WoW but not that much.

Why would it be like GW? GW isn't MMO.

As Cupertino said. The first part of the game is like an instance, where no high lvl players can come and play around you. Until you finish the "tutorial" quests I guess i can call them.

But after that, its all an normal game. There is lots of tiny loading when entereing buildings and caves, but very fast. So nothing to get you annoyed.

After that I don't know, I didn't get the chance to go much further. I had to stop at lvl 12 when the beta was finished.

All in all, I loved my experience playing the game. The game play is a lot like WoW, but with better graphics and its LOTR!!! how can someone not like it!! : P

    Anyways, thats all I got! : )
