Its a little complicated to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it its loads of fun. I find my self doing all the diplomacy quests and not adventuring... still only level 3
. I wish the game could be played between players.
I think it would be neat for more mmos to have competitive card games where you could loot better cards and what not.
So, anyone else?

I just needed to get to level 10 to get a horse.
Later I'll get myself a fancy diplomatic boat for missions to other continents.
I'm absolutely addicted to diplomacy too.
Diplomacy will be able to be played against players at some point too. (The Diplomacy devs have said theyr'e going to put it in as a type of PvP on ALL servers, cause it's optional)
It adds another layer to the many the game already has. Only sucks that High Elf civic diplomacy is turned up too hard temporarily, heh.

Seriously.
It's Are'el. This forum doesn't allow apostrophes in usernames.
Eventually, from what I understand, you wil need to win a diplomacy exchange to go into adventure areas of the game. Also, if you want a house, you would use the diplomacy aspect to negotiate to purchase real estate. There is also something about earning faction points, some cities are hostile to races not from that city. Kind of like the sheriff saying. "Son, you're not from around here are you?".
All in all, diplomacy is very enjoyable. You have a hand of 5 cards, and you must play them in a manner that gives you the most points at the end of a number of rounds. In the early diplomacy quests, if you lose, you just re-arrange your hand and try again. Later on, if you lose, you must abandon the quest, run back to the quest giver, and start again.
When you initiate a diplomacy exchange, there are 4 colors of cards, and one color may not be represented in the window of the subject for the quest. Eliminate cards that need the deleted color to be used from your hand before you proceed. It is okay to keep cards of a different color that give up that deleted color to the opponent, as they cannot use the deleted color either.
In short, you have the opportunity to study your opponents color choice of cards before you initiate diplomacy, and modify your hand brfore starting the mini game. It is a quite fun mini game, the quests include solving a murder, and resolving a Hatfield/McCoys family fued. Not your standard MMORPG fare, it's a nice change of pace.
