Brothers in Arms: Road to Hell 30, Earned in Blood and Hell's Highway are three good FPS games with great storylines. Although you need some skills to play this game. I would not recommend this as your first FPS game. Call of Duty and Counterstrike: Source have both nice Multiplayer options.
Korean War Games are junk. BF1942, BF2 and most of the mods are awesome. Call of Duty series is good as well.
I've played Heroes and it's a half-ass attempt at Starcraft in real war mode. The Koreans suck at war games. Hell, there's a reason for their country being divided. Of course, notwithstanding U.S. foreign policy gone wrong.
However, if you want a REAL Kick ass war game, try Medieval II, Total War. Now that's some shite.

RISING DRAGOON ~AION US ONLINE LEGION for Elyos
Age of Empires 3
Rome: Total Realism (a Rome: Total War mod)
Medieval 2: Total War
Civilization IV
In these you start out with limited units and must defeat the enemy only with them, like in Call of Combat:
Ground Control
Ground Control II
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident
Rome: Total War
Medieval 2: Total War
Star Wars: Empire at War
In these, you build a base, and capture areas of the map to gain resources:
Company of Heroes (This game has very, very high system requirments)
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War
These are more conventional strategy games, where you build a base and gather resources by mining or some other non-combat way:
Command & Conquer
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2
Warcraft III
Age of Empires II (3 was awful compared to 2, don't get it)
Rise of Nations
Rise of Ledgends
Empire Earth
"Kaneda! What...do you see?"
ACE777, i disagree with you. age of empires III is much better than age of empires II. In aoe2 you just spam onagers and you win.. i didn't like that
edit: of course this post isnt constructive in any way, and this is my opinion
Depending on what you like....
Medieval/sword and shield era:
Medieval 2 Total War.(RTS)
Rome: Total War(RTS)
Age of Empires(RTS)
Modern era:
Battlefield 2(FPS)
Brothers in Arms(modern as in a last century at least)
Call of Duty( FPS, again WW2)
Future/Sci Fi
Dawn of War(RTS and both expansions are great)
Battlefield 2142(FPS)
Supreme Commander(RTS, not released, but pre release reviews have been good)
Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars(RTS also not released, but promising)
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
For CoC style gamepley try Faces of War. It's the sequel to Heroes: Soldiers of WW2.
It's a squad based RTS.
The micromangement requires you to individually control each unti member or tank etc.
There are no real time resource managements. No farming up enough gold to buy the next unit or building a troop factory to pump out more infantry.
Others worth a look are Rush for Berlin and Company of Heroes. Both great WW2 RTS games.
I've played Heroes and it's a half-ass attempt at Starcraft in real war mode. The Koreans suck at war games. Hell, there's a reason for their country being divided. Of course, notwithstanding U.S. foreign policy gone wrong.
