Crafting and Housing?

I'm fairly new to following WAR.  So far, all I've read about is the Realm v. Realm gameplay, and the race/class information.  I was curious if there was going to be the usual MMO staples; crafting and housing.  Any plans for that kind of thing?  Or is WAR going to have a focus on the action?

       We don't know much on either of those. What we do know is that there will supposedly be a very in-depth and well-designed unique crafting system that is supposed to be very core to the game.



       As for housing, we've heard nothing on it, but with a setting like Warhammer, and the focus of the game, I wouldn't count on it.

    I doubt there will be player housing when this game launches.

    Purpose of the game is to invaded your enemy's capital city and burn it to the ground.

    With that in mind, it would be interesting if they did have player housing, but if your capital got captured and destroyed by the other faction you would lose everything you had in your house. This loss would motivate players to agressively defend their capitals and be a more active particpant in the PvP objectives in the game.

    I know nothing of player housing but i can shed some light on crafting...

    the video blog in the bottom right corner is an example of the crafting system or at least an idea for one. it called "Paper Prototype Crafting System".

    I doubt they'll 'not' have player housing. Given the relatively short development time (they started in 2005, didn't they?), maybe something like elaborate player housing won't make it. But given their experiences with Dark Age of Camelot, which does have housing, allowed the accelerated development of WAR, it seems kind of odd that they wouldn't include it.



    If they don't have it at launch, they'll probably plan to have it. They felt it was important enough in DAoC to update it in a huge patch for free, so who knows.

    Thanks for that.  So now I at least know there's going to be crafting.  Good news for me, as I'm a bit of a crafting nut.  It's usually one of the first things I try out in MMOs.

    Unfortunately, I am not hopelessly addicted to Paul's Video Blog, and won't be satisfied until I've watched the entire archive.  I did like his entry abotu dance emotes, though.

    Yeah, when I think about WAR, housing would just seem out of place.  They want us getting out there and killing each other (and NPCs), not playing interior designer.  As long as there's plenty of inventory or bank space, I'm fine with no housing (if they choose not to have it).
