OK, i have a small HD (71gigs, hoping to upgrade). After a while, i noticed that the ammount i could use was dropping, a LOT! I saw from 40 somthin gigs go to 1.6 gigs. So im thinkin to myself "where the hell did all my space go?" So, today i decided to delete files i didn't use. I came across the fraps folder, where you save the videos you took. I thought because i didn't use fraps anymore i could delete it. I right clicked, delete. A message comes up and says "This file is to big for the RB, do you wish to permanently delete?" I thought "WAA?!" and clicked cancel. I checked the siz of the file, 31.7 FRICKEN GIGS. Anybody else have fraps HUGE files like me? I didn't have much video also.
I don't know about the FRAPS part, but whn it ask if you want to permanently want to delete, just select "yes". All it's telling you is there is not enough space allocated to the recycle bin to hold that much data, so it will bypass the recycle bin and delete it immediately, instead.
Yes, fraps is pathetically shitty for recording videos, the format is just horrible. I recorded a 30 second video in WoW and put the res and quality all the way down, and the file was still touching 500mb.

I actually crashed my PC recording myself pwning noobs in CoV PvP. I was taking footage and all of a sudden it dropped me out to windows with a low drive space warning.... I had 800mb free on my 20gb windows partition.... I hadnt checked the file locations when I started using it and I should have set it to one of my bigger dumps.... So the file was like 16gb for 12 mins of footage LOL....
I agree... its a functional but highly ineficient method.

Wow, I thought I was the only one. Yeah it happens to me too. I usually do recording in waves. Record for 10 seconds each and so and so, but still they come out huge. A 10 second video can go over 80mb. Crazy how it can record easily, possibly without lag yet become such a large file. To sheesh, I honestly don't know anything better than Fraps to tell you the truth.

You can Encode it with DR Divx, if you don't have that then just use Windows movie maker.
THe file size will go form like 30gb to 300mb.
Lawl I can relate to this....

As I am not experienced in the way of digital recording, would anyone recommend another proggram to record, other than FRAPS??
Thanks.
