Dwarf/Half-Giant Hate Arggggggg! Crafting Help Needed

IpcryssIpcryss Member UncommonPosts: 169
I'm a Half-Giant Artificer on Thunderaxe.  I receive my amateur artificer quest -  "Seeking the Trainer"  - where I need to find Ralern Seaforge.  From the info I can gather, Ralern Seaforge is in a tower at Three Rivers Post.  The tower is guarded by lvl 20 Dwaves which will kill me on site.  Can anyone tell me for certain if that's where Ralern is?  If so please let me know so I can start another character. Thanks!

Probably is the correct NPC. I've seen a couple people say they got their lvl 10 crafting quest, and the NPC was surrounded by KOS NPCs. So much for not having to do the Adventuring sphere to be a crafter.

I don't know exactly what the magic number is for factions you're KOS to, but I gather it doesn't take all that long to get to non-KOS from the people I've heard talking about doing it.

Important, you need to be Level 11 to finish that Quest so don't bother before even if you get the Introductionary Quest form your trainer.

You need 500 Faction to be non KoS. Most crafters have to go to a KoS area. It's part of the challange, either bring some fellow crafters or some Bodyguards. The other option is of cause to get faction, takes about 1-2h to get the 500, but then you have access to the Crafters there and the Quests. There are some special recipes and some nice Quests so it might be worth getting the faction.

Easiest way to get faction is to go to the newbie area of that race and kill the Level 1-2 faction mobs there.

I have Orc and Vulmane Faction and it was worth it. As a crafter you want to travel and get more recipes and access to crafting Quests. Some notable Quest rewards i got where 5 Bales of Ultra Rare Cotton, A crafting tunic with +5 Finess, +5 Problem Solving, +20 Refining Skill and +20 Finishing Skill.

Thanks, very much - this is excellent advise for all crafters!  I didn't that 500 faction points would turn off the hate.

If you're a Half-Giant with early game artificer aspirations be warned.  I took the advise and headed toward the Dwarven starting area so I could get my faction rating to 500.  As I traveled the road leading there guess what was standing right in the middle, blocking the path: a lvl 40 Dwarven guard.  There was no way around him - it was a narrow pass - so I started looking for alternate routes.  No such luck.  Lotsa unscalable mountains.  Back to my High Elf Bard - I've learned from that mistake and researched the High Elf hate.
