Maybe hes just that hardcore that he leveled so fast, because this is after all a hardcore game, so people shouldint complain when guys like this wanna race to the finish line first.
It makes him more hardcore and more skilled then the average gamer.
Why do you assume its cheating? The game has been around long enough for someone to share their account and level it up fast enough. And thats more of a grey area, i dont consider that cheating, but i wouldint do it cause ide want the accomplishment on my own.
Dont diss hardcore players just because you want your carebear equality and advance as fast as the guy that puts more work and time into an awesome accomplishment.
Its only natural for a game that has a lot of glitches at launch to have people exploit them left and right. Ive known players like this, they assume that enough people do it, they might not be one of the players caught.
The sad thing is, players like that whine, get banned, and start a new account to try the same thing.
I dont know, maybe the website is wrong, maybe they didint skip levels? Im just trying to give hardcore players the benefit of the doubt because their skill amazes me.

I wouldn't call it skill that amazes me, but the pure insanity does. I'd say Fortitude to sit infront of a PC
Even though I don't see the benefit of rushing to get to the end game he/she apparently does. From the link you can see this person is not spending any time whatsoever on either crafting or diplomacy so my guess is this person is grinding out the levels as quickly and as efficently as possible.
To each his/her own I say and they could easily be in their 30's if that is the way they choose to spend their gaming time.
I doubt hes doing anything illegal. 4 days into release and people were already lvl 22, but thats when my account got locked for not buying the retail yet. When I log on, all my friends will probably be in a high 20's leaving me in my teens.
The game will really slow down once he gets into his 40's.
Nevermind, I noticed he had killed only 79 NPC's and completed only 100 quests. Def. something wrong here...

I am surprised you are surprised. Even games that are tight tight tight there are usually exploits from what I hear VG is anything but tight. I have heard from farily reliable sources there are exploitable quests, exploitable mobs (don't fight back), working speedhack (that one is a worry as it suggests the client server architecture is not robust) I also hear but from less reliable sources that there are people botting.
Stuff like this happens in any game but as I say the less 'tight' it is the easier it is for people to do it and get away with it.
I have no idea if they are cheating/exploitting/etc. but i used to be a "hardcore" gamer - in a diffrent game i started to play 2 month after every1 else and it took me about 3 weeks to be the highest lvl in-game (thank god im not like that anymore :P ) - every1 though i was cheating and stuff - but i just played a lot a knew how to play/where to lvl... so it doesnt really mean they are cheating (although its still possible).
There's got to be something wrong with this game, when this guy can skip levels.
Yikes
Their whole guild average lvl is 21.0
This is a Hardcore Raiding guild, Halcyon Affinity. They play 24/7, grouped. All they do is Adventure. Not to mention, they played in Beta so they've already scouted the leveling up grounds. They did the same thing in EQ2. Their lives revolves around MMOs. Trust me, I was a member and seen it first hand. Too much for me.
I guess thats a good reason to actually wait for a second (or third) round of servers. Personally I enjoy uncovering bugs....one of the thrills of MMORPG's for me is really undertanding what makes everything tick. Of course in the search for how everything works you often discover what dosen't.
One of the reasons I havent (as yet) signed up for VG is that I really think it sends a bad message that people are prepared to pay for betas. If they wanted to take money they should have sold pre-orders and let those people carry on with beta.
Dosen't seem to have hurt them too much but having people running round at 50 after a month (hardcore /cough exploiters) will peeve people that are doing it straight. Be a nightmare on pvp servers too.
The other potential issue with this is the jolly green ranger will see this and think hmmm people must be having fun - I know lets decrease experience by 90% of course the hardcore guys are already there and the poor saps that only play 8 hours a day just have to grind that much harder to get there.

I believe this could be the reason why they realized people were gaining experience about 33% faster then they wanted too, so they lowered it.
Of course, there is a method to this madness. People like this allow Sigil to create the game that -they- wanted to create. No matter how much you slow the xp down, you're not going to stop the hardcore guilds. But, this does allow Sigil to refine what they designed.
Yup of course there is constant tweaking. Though a longer beta would have allowed things to be in the right ballpark to start. I also take your second point but that is my concern too. I am a hard core player, very hard core - I am not sure my idea of fun fits in with the 'vision'. See my problem is that I don't think mindless repetition is 'hardcore' at all. It certainly isnt fun for me. Brad has made some pretty appalling design decisions in the past (ask anyone that sat in line in a little room killing the same mob every 10 minutes for 20-30 hours to get JBoots). I just hope Sony can hold him in check.

Redelf is right. Look at this guy's stats and see for yourself.
I feel sorry for people who think they can exploit their way through the game. They'll all be banned. Sigil has already taken care of a few people that are doing this and i'm sure they'll get this guy too.
I doubt they will ban anyone, they need the subscription money. I can't wait for these guys to get to level 50 in a few weeks and bitch about the lack of raid content.

Apparently everyone in their guild is skipping levels, and a common thread is Ksarvai Gulch.
Unbelievable. They nerf XP for these cheating rats?

Reminds me of AC2 mind set. Exploit early, exploit often.
How can you get enough xp to _skip_ a level?

Red is funny where Yellow is downright hilarious.
Good for a chuckle, Thx.

Im glad a hardcore serious game like Vanguard makes you laugh.
Being powerfull is no laughing matter.

There is no way in hell you can avoid a bug so far, me i just wont take advantage of a glitch, even if i dont care that i get banned.
Its very easy to see there are more players that take advantage then not.
