Isn't Burning Crusade like 'more of the same'?

Well, TBC did add flying mounts, although those only work in some areas and are mostly made for moneysinks.  It added arenas too, although blizzard said they planned to have those in the original games release.

Im still wondering why all those WoW players who spent hours and hours for months sitting around bored in raiding parties for the best loot put up with this expansion.  All those months spent on getting uber level 60 loot wasted within days of the expansion... Level 63 newbie gear > level 60 uber gear.  If I were still playing WoW, I would be outraged.

I'm still surprised they didnt add any new classes

Im always confused when ppl complain because their gear is no longer the best, what do you expect, never released better armour? I remember when Naxx dungeon was released with the new T3 armour sets, those who has been in full T2 for a few months where up in arms becuase they had to farm the next gear tier and their T2 was no longer the best.  What do you expect the game to just stop, no new gear, no new lvl cap, no new dungons, no new loot, no new mobs? sit in Ironforge in your shinny T2 for the next few years?  Come on guys think for just 1 second.

Im lvl 68 and still in my T2 set, only replaced my bow, cloak and trinkets so far  lvl 63 green/blue is not as good as Lvl 60 T2 set at least at lvl 68.

Blizz didnt do much new with TBC but they laid the ground work for better things, they more or less used the outlands to experment with objective based world PvP objects, Arena ladder/teams are finaly here.  Mobs are smarter in that have more ability, like stuns, warping, playing dead, running to other mobs, calling for help, siliencing casters.  Flying mounts and bombing runs.

Id of giving it an 8.5, its more of the same but its well done and polished with great looking enviroments, I know of just 2 bugs so far, 1 in an instance where a door wont open and 1 quest mob wont spawn.

Never cared for WOW myself, however just the buzz from friends that do had me almost to the point of digging out my old box and snagging a copy just to see what the fuss was over.

    I miss DAoC

TBC is very well done and its very polished. There are NO game breaking bugs and virtually no bugs at all say for a few. Very impressive for an industry that has a rep for releasing crap at release and expecting its players to dish out money for it ( recent case in example vanguard ).

There are some nice quests that are a lot of fun and the TBC 5 mans are excellent dungeon running examples.

But yes it really does not offer anything new of consequence. Flying mounts are ok but I would have expected something different.

So if I were to review TBC I would be doing it based in comparison to other recent MMO releases. Its quality is superb and un matched and it certainly deserves an 8 to 9 rating.

Im still waiting for something new cause well I have seen it all MMO wise and I am bored with it.

The Gamespot reviewer can't write or think, and probably hasn't had an original idea since the day he decided that he was a writer. Most Gamespot reviews that I read suck, here's another one. If I wanted to see cheerleaders perform I'd go to a football game. The best thing that Gamespot does is plaster their big "G" logo over screen shots of upcoming games.

They have eight *million* subscribers. Why wouldn't they do more of the same? They found a winning formula the likes of which the SOE criminals can only dream about.
