was just curious as to the class structure and pvp dynamics of the game. i know they have FFA pvp servers but thats only a portion of what im looking for.
for starters im tired of you making a class, and thats it, thats all you are, is that class, and anyone else who picks that class has all the same exact spells that you do, im looking for a game where you make hybrid class's or can train in spells and skills outside of your orginal class. and no, plz don't state wow has hybrids and diversity among class's. thats like saying fat kids win marathons. i played swg (orignal) and shadowbane some and those 2 games were ideal on diversity between class's.
also, are there any reprocussions to dieing in pvp? i get tired of ppl corpse zerging into fights simply cause they don't loose anything if they die. SWG at least had you loosing another 20 min worth of buffing, shadowbane had corpse looting. wow had crap.
personally im just tired of all this carebear pvp that games have been tossing out, that and the simple paper rock scissors without crossing class's or hybrids really state the single dull mind of a company developing a game, thats just my 2 cents, i don't mind for bugs to much at all if there being worked on, i don't mind waiting for content, but i hate simple gameplay dynamics that all the games recently seem to be pushing out. (wow) and i know since wow sold so many copies that companies are going to try and do what blizzard did (ie. taking some of the best from every game before hand)
any input on this game's class structure/pvp dynamics would be much appreciated. im an orignal SOE hater for swg, and i hear how they tore apart EQ2 as well, but i'd be willing to put up with em for so long if they gave me the diversity that I feel mmo's have been so neglecting in recent years.=)

1. No to hybrid classes. you class and skills the same as everyone else who selects that class. You could pick a different race, different equipment, different clothes and weapons... dare to be different.
2. "PvP Friendly carebearing" is not what I would class this game as. More "Dont walk around alone, or go AFK" sorta game.
3. The death penelty is BIG. Money for PvP and XP for death from an NPC. Also if you cannot get your tomb back, or have to summon it, not only do you lose XP, but gain an XP debt. This is comes with ofcourse the item decay that happens at your demise.
4. You dont mind bugs you say? You will fit right in. The game has had huge changes last 2 weeks, but still a fair way off perfect, or some would say, near release quality.
5. Content is ahead of Leveling players. But there is never to much or enough. Can be limiting at times. the grinds are needed.
6. No official forums, only a technical help, and webpage feedback forum, all other posting happens... somewhere, not quite sure so many places. this is one. Here is a example response from the devs of a question posted on Official VanguardPlayers.com Website Feedback , posted then topic locked. Please take note that the link given to assist this person and their questions is to a page of links to 45+ forums and resource sites.
7. thats about it, cant think of much more to say, and i just relised 'my glass is half empty' about the game.
8. Also It is said, and I experienced it first hand myself tonight. Some have had to Pre-authorise next months CC subscription to play this month, even after this month was paid for.
All of the above I have lived with, and probabaly would have continued to until points 8. This is my first Windge about Vangaurd post, not that I ment it to be when i started typing this reply. But what I have replied is never the less true.
