ya watever happen to ferentus? i was digging in my add/remove programs today and found that i couldnt connect. searched on wikipedia why, but doesnt clearly say. so this is where i got the website from so wat happen to it?

Wikipedia says, "On January 19th 2007, DQ announced on their homepage that the Ferentus project was closed."
I'm not sure if that statement is 100% reliable. That said, even if it is, I don't think Ferentus is really gone. With a little bit of research, this is what I've been able to figure out:
As far as I can tell, DQ Technology, the company responsible for Ferentus, does not make games in any way, shape, or form. They make broadband hardware which they market to ISP's. They do have a Korean office, though, which I believe they use for more than hardware sales. I get the impression that this office is used to coordinate joint ventures with Korean firms. In this way, the Ferentus project was originally a localization of a game developed by a Korean studio working under KT Corporation, a Korean group which DQ Technology partnered with. Once DQ realized that they couldn't make this game penetrate the US market, DQ dropped Ferentus, but KT then took their own version live in Korea. Ferentus is gone, but KT has opened Herrcot, which is supposedly nearly identical in terms of game mechanics. That's the scoop, as far as I can tell.
