In the face of so much negative publicity and bad reviews, or at very least a sharply divided overall impression following launch, Sigil should do something to reward those players who jumped in at the begining, continue to play (and thus support [financially]) their game. Since even they acknowledge that there is much left to be fixed with VG, a small token of appreciation to the community would go a long way to mending fences and building bridges. Special items, discount/free housing or ships for accounts that purchased and logged on prior to a certain date... At a minimum Sigil should be striving to maintain the players they've got and show them some love... It's almost Valentine's Day afterall and Whatever Brad gets his wife, mistress, honey, whatever... will paid by YOU the gamer, the monthly subscriber. Just a thought...

FUNCOM - putting the FUN in disFUNctional !
Where did you read a bad review? "Bad" is subjective, of course. Just curious...
OP, what planet are you from?
I've enjoyed my experience thus far very mcuh. It seems that the vast majority of the Vanguard community is having a blast and the only mixed reviews I've seen vary from good to excellent.

Personally I'd just be happy if the game FUNCTIONED at this point, that character data was saved, that xp and items didn't disappear, and that the first big class changes patch didn't nerf one of the already least played classes into obscurity. I don't need a free house - since they upped the land price from 20s a week to 1g a week I couldn't afford the upkeep anyway, not for a long, long time.

I made my first gold 7 hours after i started playing. Is that supposed to be expensive or are you just too lazy to do what needs to be done to get the money?
Make a difference!
I'd love to know how you made a gold 7 hours in.
Did you start in the same area with a full teams worth of friends and powergrind yourself to a level where quest rewards are more than 30 copper? (I'm actually seeing some quests that give 1 silver now, amazing!) Looted items sell for 4-8 copper a piece to the NPC, and even listing fairly nice items for 50 copper apiece on the broker isn't earning me a lot.
I've been playing since launch and I still haven't seen my first goldpiece, and I'm fairly careful about what I purchase, run to my body when I die for less repair cost, et cetera. I have a friend that got her first gold piece a couple of days ago, but she's also completed something along the lines of 500 work orders crafting.
Or maybe you can make a lot of money with diplomacy? I haven't gotten very far in that.
If its so easy to make money, by all means share your secret - otherwise I call BS.

VG is hopeless Amen.

A wild guess is the broker. Lots of looted stuf can be sold at overprice - don't ask me who buys it or why, but it is usually the way to earn money quick. And no, I haven't tried it in Vanguard, but it is true in most any MMORPG so it's probably true here as well. It only takes ONE fool to buy that overprized sword, not understanding that he just spent all his money on something he will loot five paris of in next two days...

I use the broker diligently, but he's claiming 7 hours into the game he had that much gold.
I'm probably 100 hours in, without crafting just doing my quests and selling 'uncommon' or better loot on the broker for less than others are selling it for, and I think I have 30 silver to my name.

Well im lvl 15 and JUST got my first gold peice. I think every single copper silver i ever got was form quests (like 150+) maybe 5-6 s from silling items. As the quests get harder, the rward gets bigger, and right now most quests give 2-4 silver! I just need to bank it before I get pked lol. But 7 hours? Is that even lvl 10? maybe 12? COULD be possible if he found a lot of amazing stuff and managed to sell it at a huge profit, if he never bought a horse, gear, food, etc.
Well I was also playing a High Elf, and I think I've seen maybe 3 other people, total, in Leth Nurae since the beginning. And you can't get anywhere else without a nightmare run through dangerous territory, at least not the 3 places I've tried to go (3 directions lol). Needless to say, I've been forced to solo primarily, have had to upgrade my gear pretty regularly to be able to SURVIVE soloing, and there are many nice quests I haven't been able to do for lack of a team. But as I originally suggested, I suppose if you spent 7 hours powergrinding out quests in a full group from the start, it could be done.
