Hey guys,

How are the pet classes in Vanguard. In eq lvled a mage to 65 and loved it. However I dont see a mage class in Van. Is there only the necro thats a pet class ?

ahh I miss my mage in eq hehe, the Aa's were so cool with the swarm of mini eath pets hehe.

Thanks for the info

From what I've read so far, I haven't yet played VG, necro and shaman are the two main pet classes in game.

Necro - Permanent undead pet, flesh crafts for improved abilities.
Ranger - Tamed a temporary pet (animal mob attacking the party) or call help a temporary pet (once every hour).
Druid - In combat, summon an elemental pet to help you.
Shaman - At 15th choose a totem, Pheonix, Wolf or Bear. You can either assume its form or call a pet to help you not both at the same time.
Dark Elves - Temp Summon a baby drake once an hour.
Wood Elves - Wolf Form for a minute (not really a pet).

Only Shaman and Necromancers have permanent pets, everything else is a temporary basis, some once an hour.

Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve

Druid pets are cast for 5 minutes and will accept command somewhere around levels 45/50.  (since I'm no where near there I can't tell you how that's working out)

Nice catch on the Druid Summon, I forgot about that. Rangers also get a Pet Summon as well, almost forgot. Good catches...
