Population boom?

Since it looks like Vanguard isn't going to be meeting thier population goal anytime soon, do you think AOC will see more subs?

I think AOC and WAR are going to be heavy hitters.

Not a fan of WAR (it seems to be a PVP version of WOW). But I think it will do as well as AOC. 2 PVP games with 2 different playstyles.

AoC and WAR are going to be the two true 3rd gen games we've been looking for.  Both of them, in a way, are at least doing something different with the genre.  Kudos to them.  Hell, I might play both.

Vanguard is a good game and all, but damn I feel like I'm in Everquest again.  next.

Lets just hope we get the masses away from that part time job they call a game (WoW)... And yes I think, if they live up to the expectations of the people, that current games will be heavily hit. People are wanting good endgame PvP and both of these games seem to have it down pretty damn good (except booo to WARs graphics, I thought Mythic could do better than those cartoonish things)

I havent heard this from any official source, but someone who have followed WAR closely have told me that the max PVP number will be 36 vs 36.... He lost interest after hearing that since he had the impression WAR would be about really MASSIVE battles in pvp.

Maybe AoC will pull some WAR fans because of this?

If it is only 36 v 36 I will be sorely disapointed. When I think of Warhammer, I don't think small battles, I see Battlefields with people everywhere. It should truely be epic in scale.

I am still holding out for WAR mostly, but if AoC does have the stuff it promised "Right" in my eyes, I will be playing both :D

I think (and hope) both AoC and WAR will cross one mill subscribers. Atleast if Funcom creates a decent combat system and a finished game by release.

There is no limit on how many players that can be in a battle in WAR . The 36 v 36 is only the scenarios (instanced). And even that is too much for instanced battles imo. Comming from DAoC, I know that group vs group is the most fun battles to fight.

If you dont like the graphic style of WAR, you can blame none other than Games Workshop, as they designed it.

PS: How the hell do I quote on this damned boards?

There is a quote button on the bottom right hand part of a person's post :D

I definatly like the option of choosing Limited fights, but I prefer all out war. I come from MUDs that were completly unrestricted on PvP (Any level can attack any level, anytime, anywhere) I know this isn't going to be the same in WAR, but it is still my favorite game style.

And here is hoping they both pass a million subs. That would rock :D

I was trying to find the [tag] for it. Much better then these horrible boxes. :P

Anyway, all out war can be very fun, but very often its just a zerg where you roll along, not really doing anything useful or fun. However, when you can sack an enemy city, I expect that to be great. As for unrestricted PvP, I love it in some games, and I can imagine that it could be great in MUDs. In WARAoC it would be an unbelivable gankgrief fest.

IMO. the very best PvP is balanced group vs group fights where the winner is the team with best teamplay and with the most skilled players. Such as they are doing in WAR. Though only haivng instances would suck. ^^

AoC should release more PvP info imo. We know way too little about it at this time. :[

I doubt they will have more them  500k subs each.. The hype and iP isn't strong enough..(yes warcraft and blizzard are names which know almost everyone in gaming industry...)
