I'm in beta, and loving every minute of it. The combat in the game blows away the competition.

    That's just my personal opinion.

I am also waiting for beta, pre-ordered the game aswell and registered it, thinking April 7th I will get in but hoping to be sooner. This game is gonna rock, got a personal friend who was invited in the closed beta.

I have a kind of Love&Hate relationship with it, I haven't preordered, but I'm spending a lot of time playtesting CoH.

I'm somewhat looking foreward to this game as well. I haven't preordered it but it's a really cool concept and really something totally new. But I have a question to all the beta testers...................

Is there anything to do besides fight? (hack'n'slash) I really can't see this game being anything but Hack'n'Slash. I mean is there like ways to research your abilities or something of that sort?

Yeah since theres no tradeskills, PvP, uber lewt or anything like that it seems like the game that will be awesome for a month and afterwards get old.... very very old.

This is exactly what I, and some others, are concerned about and have been concerned about. At the same time, its the very aspect that could make the game new and refreshing. The ultimate question is "Will the absence of these elements kill the game or make it better than we expected?" Only time will tell.

I haven't had as much fun in a mmorpg since my very first one (AC). I am surprised too, since I really didn't expect much, and usually go for fantasy settings only. I too wonder about the longevity of it, though, since the conventional achievement of loot is not a strong point in this game (there are 'Enhancements and Inspirations, though); and your character likely does not change in appearance from when you first create him. But I am certainly going to buy it. The bottom line is that most mmorpg's are very addicting and little to moderately fun; CoH is just as addicting as any of them; but it is a lot of fun to just play it. Definitely give it a try.
