I hate when people do that too, but i just like xp too much, not that i dislike vista i just love xp and thats why i wont upgrade i may upgrade later on but xp is stable runs everything i need and hasnt froze on me once i like it alot and i give credit to microsoft for this OS its great.

While i have some issues with Windows xp it's the best OS Microsoft has ever created and i just can't see why we'd need another OS right now. We havn't come across any restrictions for XP yet apart from DX10 which i'm pretty sure Microsoft coulda have added in a SP3 or something but wont. I just don't feel the need to waste money on Vista when for me it's just not needed.

+ Vista is sooo unstable atm and by the time it's stable in another year the next OS will be out and Vista + XP will be dated as they're the last OS to use the NT technology and Vienna will (hopefully) be something new.

I've been using Vista since November, it's not unstable.

seriously at this rate a lifetime membership might not be a bad idea, then at least we might get decent tech support.

for about $450 a year you can sign up for technet and get ten user licenses for ever Microsoft product out there.

This might be the longest a necroed thread has ever lasted...he must be a powerful necromancer?!?  Funny that it is almost the 6 month anniversary of its release.

I bought my computer the night/early morning that Vista was released.  I have not had issues with it's stability at all.  It has done everything that I have asked it to do.  I have never thought, "Man I wish I had XP back."

I've been using Vista exclusively at work since RC1.  Just talk to most of the people that complain about Vista.  Half of them aren't qualified to use a calculator.

Does anyone actually think Vienna will be released on time?

You are going to switch to Vista because 2 years from now XP won't be supported, the top end games will require DX10, and Vienna will still be 2-3 years away.  Anything else is just wishful thinking.

BTW, just to give a fair review of Vista:

The good: Built in voice recognition and windows media center,  Vista hasn't crashed on me once since I got my new computer, DX10, multi-threaded applications run better on multiprocessor machines (tested with MATLAB), windows compatibility mode works on some programs that didn't work under XP.

The Bad: Individual Applications crash more often (Not the OS, just the App) especially older ones, Creating a home network that works with Windows XP & Vista isn't documented by Microsoft and took days to Google a solution, lots of older hardware isn't supported. Edit: almost forgot Netbeans 5.x won't run on Vista; have to wait for 6.0 in November.

Basically, I wouldn't upgrade an older computer to Vista, but if you buy a new one Vista is the way to go.

omgzors we must work on making 50 major out breaks of viruses between now and a year from now.  that way they will stick with vista for much longer.

power to the people get your computer sick.
