I finally decided to start playing EVE again.
I played it for a month or before I quit because I felt I couldn't do anything. I want to PvP, but I can't compete with anyone - they are too good! Any idea on how to start to PvP early?
Anyways, that's a bit beside my point. I have a Caldari character with some random skills for both fighting, mining, hauling etc. So overall a very diverse character.
However, I'm not sure whether I should make a new character of a different race? It seems to me Caldari is the most played, the most populated etc. I don't like playing as the best race, I want to be the underdog. I've did various searches but I couldn't find anything that shows population distribution. So tell me... Which race is the underdog?
Thank you!

As far as race goes, it really doesn't matter. Caldari are monsters at missles (I.E. Raven=missle boat of doom) but missles are really associated with PVE for the most part. I play Caldari myself and like it overall. There are some other ships I wish I could get into, and will eventually when I decide to train into them. (You could do the same)
I'm told mimitar has a very interesting way of playing
Goto the eve online item database and look at what most of the ship mods require? You'll notice, just about everything but weapons are a mid slot. Why is this important? It means you should pick a race that primarily armor tanks, thus you have the mid slots open for the other mods. If you choose caldari, you'll be shield tanking, thus using those valuable mid slots to shield tank (vs. uses low slots for armor tanking). In addition, missiles are pretty worthless in fleet battles. Unless you want to be doing ECM every battle (which is what caldari do) pick any of the other 3 races, play them, armor tank, use gunnery weapons.
Also you should note, once your good at armor tanking at gunnery skills, you can cross train ships and using the exact same skills, fly 3 different races just as well. You get 3 for 1. If you go caldari, you just get one....
Conclusion:
Anything but caldari.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
if I were to kill a titan tomorrow and no CCP employees showed up to say grats I would petition it.
Waiting for: the next MMO that lets me make this macro
if hp < 30 then CastSpell("heal") SpellTargetUnit("player") else CastSpell("smite") end
Race really doesn't matter unless you plan to roleplay (FYI: There are great roleplay alliances in every house)
Now, here's the kicker: You already have a character with some skills. IF your character has over 2 million SP you are probably better off just sticking with him and cross-training into whichever race you want to fly (unless, as mentioned above, you are a roleplayer). If, on the other hand, you have under 2mil SP then you could choose to restart since new players start off with pretty decent skills now anyway.
So if you're a roleplayer then by all means restart as the race you want to play. Or if your character is still low in SP you could restart. But if you have more than 2mil SP and aren't planning to roleplay then I would recommend sticking with the character you have and training whatever it is you want to do. Nobody but the roleplayers really pay much attention to what race your character is anyway
