I have not tried the beta, as I am waiting for the release...
anyways,
As I understand it, this is more like a single player game but with the ability to communicate and even work with other players?
Anyways, my question was, if it is like a single player game, is there an ending to it or is there enough content in this game to keep you playing for years such as other mmorpgs.
I guess what I'm asking is, are there a limited number of puzzles and once you complete them there's really nothing left to do or how does this game work in that regard?
I understand they will be adding new content all the time but will it be enough to keep a hardcore gamer maintained?
I love the Myst series and will play this game either way, but it would be nice to be able to play it like a mmorpg and not have an ending, but i'm not sure how this game works or what your goals are yet.
thanks guys

Howdy,
Uru can be played however you wish: Either solo or with others. All of the puzzles are solvable by oneself, but they are far more entertaining when done with others. I suppose this is true for most MMO's content, though.
Uru has an ever-evolving storyline with frequent content pushes, but yes, there is a limited number of puzzles. Once you've completed "the journey" (the first phase of content currently available on Live) then you are essentially "done" for that chapter. More content is on the way, but that's it in terms of objectives. However, there is a vast amount of other content to explore, including back story, areas, and secrets. There's plenty to tide you over until the next content push.
That having been said, I wouldn't recommend Uru for a "hardcore gamer". Uru is more akin to Second Life than it is World of Warcraft; at the end of the day, Uru's playerbase is about socializing and cooperative exploring. If you enjoyed the other Myst games though, you might just find yourself falling in love with it, as I have.
Gametap has a free "Visitor" program, where you can sample a limited amount of the content for free, for an unlimited amount of time. Checkout Uru's page for info.
Hope that helped answer your questions.
