Automining/Botting is really pointless. if anything people already bitch because the game is automated too much already.

and you can only lvl 1 character per account as thats all you really need in 99% of the time.

cheating is not a problem in eve. macrominers (bots) tend to get banned and people tend to report them alot.

and he right only 1 character at a time, hes also right by saying you only need one really

Then again you don't need to play a game either, so really what does need have to do with anything?  Some people want to dabble and screw around with a bunch of characters at once, some people want mules and alts, who cares?  The only REAL reason it is one toon trained per account is pure Real Life economics.

It is not about fairness in game play, you can definately be sure about that now.

--CCP could cut off an Eve player's fun bits, and that player would say that it was good CCP did that.

Actually some people are very concerned about macros and there are many players who obviously are not regular ones ("sdfsdf1" - "sdfsdf12"...)

These people are usually not macros though, but farmers. Which means there actual players behind these characters. Playing multiple characters at once is not permitted and it's hard to detect if they use macros to help themselves.

The way Eve works (you are not 100% safe ever) decreases the problems somewhat.

Think you added a not too much here. Player multiple chars at once is permitted. I run a combat char and a covert ops alt on dual screen all the time. Actually ran 3 chars in combat once (pvp) but not something I would recommend :) Not worth the hassle.

To run and train more than one char at a time you need 1 account for each char.

As for cheating, no it is not common. While there probably are macro miners they not really a problem as the only things you can macro are stuff that give very low income per player and hour. You can mine low end ores and that's about it.

Some would even go so far and say that the farmers are good for eve. They mine the stuff that none else wants to bother with and makes sure there are enough of these low end minerals on the market for people to build the stuff they need to reasonable prices.

cheating is a huge problem in Eve, ccp uses cheats to help their buddies, then lie and cover it up.

    not opinion, a fact.

ccp the "we cheat for our buddies and are proud of it" company...

EVE is just like every MMORPG I know out there. Each one only allows you to advance one character at a time if you really think about it. Sure you can have 8 character per server on your WoW account but you can only ever advance one of them at a time. EVE just allows you to compress all 8 characters into 1 character.

Ignore this guy. Only one Dev has been confirmed to have cheated, and then he made a mistake after he was found out by CCP by giving his cheated items to a player alliance. That has been sorted out now but a lot of people are making the jump between that single Dev and the rest of the company, using past things that aren't in any way provable or often can easily be countered by logical thinking to back this up.

Therefore, thinking that the entire company cheat to help their buddies, is indeed an opinion. Especially when no-one but the Devs themselves know the facts.

Just to expand on what GRM says here, respectfully but from the other side:

    - There are at least 2 documented cases of cheating by a DEV or GM where there it was admitted by CCP.

    - In both of those cases CCP initially tried to cover it up and banned the "reporter" but later back pedalled and admitted it.  In the second and most recent case the reporter is still banned.  In the other he has been reinstated.

    - 100% of the issues that the player bases has managed to get together proof of misconduct by DEV/GMs have been proven true.  But as CCP is a strong believer in carefully censoring everything that the players post it is very difficult, *if* there is more proof, to actually discuss it.

    - Many people in the player base, including very notable members, have quit becasue of their distrust for CCP.  Even more players have suspicions that more is giong on then we realize.  I could talk about this lots, but you could also just read around.

    - As GRM said above - very little has been proven.  But in a Dictatorship where CCP controls all of the investigations, all of the trials, and the information that comes to the player base -- well -- what do you expect?  Unless CCP admits something of course we can't prove it!  Time to use some reflective judgement folks --- if it looks like crap, smells like crap, and tastes like crap ... well... SURPRISE!  It's crap!

Hey, it has NOT been settled by any means. Also there's a lot of anecdotal evidence that the developers have been helping one specific corporation extensively with inside information about upcoming events and the right place to be, spawning very rare items, and other forms of misconduct, and then banning people who report it. It hasn't been "just this one time" but is an ongoing problem that is unfortunately being swept under the rug. I'm very concerned even though I haven't been in the areas of the game where the cheating is going on myself (I've been running missions in empire space mostly). It makes me feel as though CCP is more interested in making the game "fun" for their own use than in making a good product where the playing field is level. They also have been HEAVILY censoring any discussion of this on their own forums and in-game, refusing to give any but a basic canned message (which incidentally admits to some of the allegations...in the most "it's not our fault these guys cheated and of course there's no problems NOW").
