Has anyone got into Closed Beta for this game?

Just wondering, I've been signed up since August last year and not heard a peep.

I've been following this game for a while and actually have much higher hopes for it than Vanguard, WAR, DAOC or any of the other 'big' MMO's that are due and have to say, beta invites are rarer than a virgin on prom night
Almost every member of my current WoW guild, former CoH guild and former DDO guild have been trying to lay hands on them and none have so far

Matrix Online - Tempest
I won the little "contest" here on MMORPG.com way back in like October, and to this day I haven't received anything from TCoS at all, aside from empty promises and sooner-or-later marketing spin. I really have no hope for this game or its company as a whole.

Important Information regarding Posting and You
One of the "unfortunate" parts to being part of a beta, is those that are in beta, can't actually say when the beta is on, otherwise it would be against the NDA and that person would no longer be in the beta.
So as a rule of thumb, it's just silly to believe anything that's said unless it's said from a rep or a developer as common sense would dictate, it's most likely untrue.

Well, I am not in beta obviously, so I do not know the exact content of the NDA. However, all three CM this game has had so far have stated that players are allowed to say that they are in beta and that they are playing/testing the game. So it is not against the NDA actually, and you reasoning is not based on the right assumption.
Apart from that I am always skeptical about what I read on this particular forum. People here tend to be not very well informed. However, the tell tale sign of beta being late is the fact that TCoS themselves have not proudly announced that the last closed beta phase has started.
Now that I mention it, I have not seen any signs of their pride in their own game in the last couple of months. But perhaps they are just suffering from post-release stress. Or how else to explain the silence around their new product.

Did I forget to mention too dead serious? Loosen up a bit, will you? So slacking means sitting on their asses, interesting. I thought it just meant falling behind.

at the very least slacking means not working when there's work to be done.
So it is at the very least a mild insult, even if you meant it jokingly.
And honestly, I'm more inclined to think the ... decrease in announcments means they Are working. And as always, I think most of us would rather see beta phase dates and even release dates moved -- rather than repeat other games' mistakes.
I'm sure you meant it light-heartedly, but I think for any game there are die-hard fans that would bristle at even mild insults. And since no one can tell your tone just from a board post, it's hard to tell you didn't mean a harsher form of insult by 'slacking'.

I am not negative about the game. I might be their biggest fan, but not a fanboi. That is why I am concerned when they make themselves look bad. But you were not talking about me of course. Still.

I have just checked their new web page and forums and, unless I have missed it, there is no mention of any open beta or free trial. Although I have followed the development of this game for quite some time, I am not about to subscribe without a chance to actually play it first!

Was not talking to anyone in particular but i will comment on your view that they are making themselves look bad.So because Delanor thinks TCOS dev team are bad everyone else should?lol.Thing is you are nearly alone in your assumption's if you need proof then head on over to TCOS forums and see how many people agree with you,none i bet.Me and many others who have been following this game since the start are happy with the service and happy with the devs attitude overall.I am in beta and i wish there was no NDA because i would kill you in one sentence but alas i want to keep my beta spot.
Ps Ask any Dev of TCOS if they have pride in there game and you no what the answer will be.
All i can say is hold on people and believe me when i say it will be worth the wait.

For some reason Spellborn hasn't attracted that 'cult' following yet. It's just lurked and seemed very passive and no one has realy bothered to look into it. But as previous people have mentioned, it WILL be worth the wait and it will be a surprise hit of 07.
Sadly I haven't played TCoS yet, but I can only hope some day soon that chance will come. Whether it be beta or retail, I can't wait but I will.
Just a bit of a shame to admit that I'm spending all my time on 9 dragons waiting, The sooner TCoS comes the better..!
Yes, May 21st 2007. It is official now. European release that is.
Hm, that is a monday, so most likely that week in retail, usually that means thursday.
