Hey Just wondering what the PvP is like. I dont want any frickin "wow this game sucks why would u even ask how the pvp is?" I actually want to know what its like, and what u do, objectives? stuff like that, Thx

Simple really if you want PVP then don't come to this game, it's basically a PVE game.



If you want PVP then check out WOW,DAOC,EVE Online and maybe WAR when its out.

Me coming from 5 years of DAoC I know what pvp is and let me tell u WoW isnt pvp, dont tell people that Want pvp to get WoW, thats basically a pve/questing game with a little gimp pvp on the side lol, and also I asked for the objectives and what u do, not someone telling me not to get this game

Id like to know what the pvp is like too, as I just realized I joined a pve server and im trying to decide if I should make a new character or not...

 WoW?  DAoC and EVE both have good PvP, but I think youre mistaken about WoW.  Lets replace it with say... Guild Wars.  Good PvP in Guild Wars and EVE (I havent tried DAoC but I've heard good things) although these two games have nearly opposite style PvP

No battlegrounds that i know of, it's just world pvp. However theres lots of bugs that don't make it fun and casters are overpowered and own everything.



The game just wsn't designed with PVP in mind, feels like something they've thrown in last min.

Well im sure they are aware of these problems, seems like its hard not to be. So just give it some time Vanguard haters, Im sure they will solve the glitches that make u all so angry

The PVP setup is still the best we have seen in this type of game for a long time IMO.



I am playing on the FFA server and I'm having a blast. There is currently 15% coin looting, a chance of a durability hit in PVP death, as well as infamacy points (which yet to have a purpose, other than gloating). They say these rules are easy enough to change and will change them if need be - they also mention they may look at adding item looting (YAY!!!!!!).



At the moment there is the whole anti vs RPK thing happening in game. So far over 90% of the people I have run into have been peaceful, but's its the not knowing who's who that makes FFA gameplay so exciting; none of this defined enemy/friend BS (unless you like that, in which case try the team server).



There are NO battle grounds at this stage (thank god, and i hope they never come to the FFA server).



As far as objectives go, from and anti's perspective hunting down and killing RPK's is as good as it gets. As you likely already know there are NO instances, this means there are and will be battles over key places, like towns, dungeons, quests, mobs etc. There will also be guilds going to war and such. I'm sure infamacy will have a role to play in the future as well.



Sure, there are balance issues atm but they are being worked on. All it means if that if a cleric runs at you, you simply run away Hopefully they will fix this in the next patch (tomorrow).



All in all, it's good fun IMO, come on in!
