Things that annoy me about Vanguard, things that are good

Sometimes its just good to get it out.  I actually still enjoy playing.  I'm level 12 sorceror and not uber obseessed with leveling fast etc, so that helps alot.  My Pc also plays its decently although laggy in towns. With that said, the 5 bugs that really do annoy the crap out of me are:

1. Broken compass and maps not showing locations correctly, not tracking correctly- so F'n annoying

2. Broken quests and also quests that are incredibly vague

3. Dcing and logging back in to find everything i did in the last 15-20 minutes never actually happened (apparently)- If this happened more it would be my number 1

4. Loggin in to find my character appearance has lost its customization and is now a FAT purplish color dark elf.

5.  Spawn rate killing me due to links

Theres been a million other listed.. these are currently anoying me the most.  I imagine if I ever do lose 2 levels in a log out or gear, that would make my enjoyment alot less, possibly to the point of quitting.

Things that are good?

 The quests! .. although bugged can still be fun and actually give decent money and exp ( a refreshing change coming from FFXI) and so far its easy to find other people that hapen to be on the same quest as you.

Mobs drop decent things

The graphics look good to me

So far, fairly nice people

I'm reading up before I try the game. If only I could find one of my friends to give me a buddy key. I really dislike the fact that there is no kind of DEMO with vanguard.

I guess if i were to write out a positive vs. negative list, I`d probably say the same things you did. You covered my game expieriences very well. The graphics are really nice and the community is pretty helpful most of the time. The mobs have dropped some pretty nice stuff for me and the quest xp is very good so far.

I do hate the lag though, and the dissappearing mobs. And the broken quests. And the ultra crappy map. And the ultra annoying music that loops constantly (I really need to look under options to get the loop off).

I think Vanguard could be a very good game in time. It has a lot of potential, but it needs lot of attention right now.

Bugs affecting me:

1.  Rarely, surfaces in the game appear completely blank white.  Sometimes where a big boulder should be, I see a big white spot in the shape of a boulder.  If I turn my torch on or off, it sometimes fixes it.

2.  Every two hours, or so, I crash to desktop.  It takes me about 45 seconds to recover from that. 

3.   Mobs sometimes dissapear when fighting.  If you have aggro, all you have to do is backup a few feet and viola, the mob is back in view.  If it dies when invisible, you just type /loot.

These bugs are so minor and have practically no effect on my gameplay.  As I said, the fun I have in VG far overshadows these infrequent and brief inconveniences. 

Hey, to the OP..your item (3) happened to me on one occasion.  I logged in and lost several quests and xp.   but in about 30 seconds, I was booted to the loading screen, and when I arrived, my character was back to normal.  I suspected they somehow created a duplicate of my character in the database.  it quickly sorted itself out and I didn't lose anything as a result.

Oh and bugs that amuse me:

Using recall and when I arrive it says "You have learned X ability!" which cleary is not an ability I will ever learn and when I check my abilities its not there.

Being able to partially complete a collect 10 type quests when its not even flagged.

Bug where it says "breath" when you are going up the hill from Hawthor Zhi to Loshimar and if you are on the horse it glitches and suddenly you have no horse and are running at horse speed.
