Alright - so... I'm new to Vanguard but I'm finding the presentation to be a little aggrivating. Are there any good webpages that display up-to-date information on class abilities? Call me crazy but the little I've been able to find looks very disheartening. The Bard class was something I was very interested in - but so far all these songs/melodies/forms/etc. don't seem to be in the game. Sure, I haven't played long, but from the information I've found online it looks like all of that stuff has been removed...
Maybe Warcraft has spoiled me - maybe having easy access to an MMORPG's information is a luxury you can only get from WoW - but I wish developers would put their ego aside and realize the difference between a 'gimmick' and a 'standard'. Its like how ID seems to REFUSE to invest an alt-fire button in any of their games. Jump, shoot, run, the end. MMO's are about immersion above all, and Vanguard isn't getting me immersed. Everything on the web is so insanely vague - and I find it hard to beleive that I'm going to end up going to EQ2 instead of Vanguard.
I don't exactly what to do nothing but complain - after all, Vanguard looks outstanding. I may be running a system dual 8800 GTX - but I've seen a few people post things about their 'high power PCs - and the game still looks like crap'. And while I may find some of the character models atrocious - the game still looks amazing.
The only other upside I can point out so far is between crafting - which 'appears' like it may be very awesome - and armor. Admittedly I've only gotten to level 6, but from looking at NPC's in a few different starting areas, and the clothing/armor I've managed to get with a few characters, they -seem- to be diverse. This is a big deal to me - I'm one of the few proud on Warcraft that go for 'style of armor' before 'stats of armor'. This was my biggest problem with EQ2 - the sore, bitter lack of armor diversity.
Anyways... mixed feelings aside - can someone help me become 'immersed' in Vanguard? Screenshots, -real- ability lists, good points outside of (I just like it, its my personal opinion), etc. I don't want any bandwagon reasons, I don't want any anti-WoW influences. I want good angles. I -want- to enjoy this game and I -want- to get hyped about it. - No instances, right? So what kind of 'epic' encounters are there? What kind of trash talking, megalomaniacal, world conquering armies/beasts/demons/etc. are out there for a group of players to challenge? And what level does that stuff start? Do I have to kill ants until lvl 40?
