login trouble

So I bought and installed city of villains, succesfully created a plaync master account, added city of villains and signed up for the monthly plan.



As I understand it, I should use the same username/password to login to the game/forums but that doesn't work.



Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It can be but not necessarily. One PlayNC account can encompass several Game accounts, so it might be the same name/pw but it might not.

On that account management screen, there's a games list section and there should be a box specific to City of Villains. It has your login name, make sure that's the one you're trying to log in with. Then if the password is giving you a problem, you can click the "Account Details" button to reset your password.

Check your email too, you should have received a confirmation message when it was set up. Also I trust you waited a few minutes to try logging in - it can take a few minutes to set up the account server-side when you play for the first time.

If you still have problems, NCSoft staff should be able to handle it. Go here to submit a question to them, though it may take an hour or two for a response depending on how busy they are.
