well, ive been thinking about the past alot lately and how much fun i had on SWG. SO.... im going to try and put aside the NGEand try to play SWG fresh from nothin. SOE wouldnt allow me to consolidate my old swg account into my EQ2 account for station access, but instead a new CD key.. we will see how it goes.. so i lose my damn near 3 year vet status ... booo soe

the game has changed alot since nge, and then this year it has once again done a 180, i suhhest that you either wait for the trader and entertainer revamp to come out ( due in a few weeks ) or stick around till the patch, this patch will make or break the game, but so far it seems to be heading in right direction. anyway, welcome back and hope to see you online.
If you read what you said... then review what the NGE playerbase has said each month...

hmmm, i have not seen any servers being merged yet, it is still speculation at this point. nothing has been confirmed, so i do not know where you get the idea of "ongoing server merges" .....
I am also getting pretty tired of everyone going into every single thread and feeling the need to express their SOE hate waves to everyone. there are 400000000000000 hate threads already, no need to mess up someone elses thread, go post your hate views in existing topics pls, you are not wanted here.

I'm sorry to say this patch will no neither thing. Unfortunately, this game was broken and broken for all time since long ago, too late for anything to save it at this point in time. The server I'm in is but a ghost town and I'm not exaggerating either. I challenge anyone to go to Radiant and check around and count how many players you see at any given time. You'll see for yourself how sad it's become.
I just came back after 2 years, I also missed the old times but I've seen for myself how this game is nothing like what we once knew and loved. I feel thats the mistake many of us have made. We can't help but think back on how good it used to be and we desire that once again. But although the game has the same name it's not the game it used to be nor will you be able to relive the old days, those days are long gone, long gone for good and forever.
I had a feeling it would be like this but I went ahead and re-opened my account anyway. I'm hardheaded. But once I leave now at the end of my month's end I shall never return. You have to see this game not as the Galaxies of old but as a totally new different game.

Ahh, sorry let me make it clear.
Mr. Smedley president of SOE is making it a priority on concepts and ideas for the Dev team to figure out a way to do this as he knows the population is so bad that they need to do this. This is NOT speculation that they are working on this..or discussing it. Be clear on that now.
In fact he made this a top 5 , I think number 1 or two actually... they are working on addressing it and how to do so.
Yes--- If you thought I said it was "Going on PERSE and actually taking place or the action there of then I am sorry" --- when in fact they are simply working on ways to figure out how to do it.
There.... this is not hate, this is a matter of fact. Know the difference. --- Do I like the NGE? No... I am in the boat with the other 300k or so playerbase that did not. No different then your in the 10k playerbase that may like the NGE.
You have to understand that some of us really liked the complex game with a population. Not all of us wanted the NGE.
You should review the MMO awards this past year... you might gain some insight from it.

I have no inclination to resub but I sincerely wish you the best of luck and hope that you find enjoyment.
SOE sent me an email today telling me I should come back and try the game on my old account for 21 days, for free. I logged in, and it worked. Tried my other accounts and they did not though.
Still , if you have your old login details, try it and see.....
(Main account has not been anywhere near SWG since NGE.)
don't listen to all these flamers, only way you will find out if the game is getting better or not is to see for yourself, you will either like the new changes or you won't. the game is nothing like it was after nge, neither is it like it was pre nge. i would say it is a mixture of the two, but with the best of both worlds. try it, you got nothing to lose and you may even enjoy it.
There are things that they added back that were missing.
There are things that they added that were never there before.
There are things missing that they removed.
Progress is being made.
Will it be enough for the hard headed cancelled vets to want to return? Probably not.
Feelings are still hurt that SOE/LEC had the audacity to dare to change "their game".
Even though the EULA warns that game play May change at anytime during the life time of the Game.
Try it out or don't.
