Yeah it should work. You definitely need to upgrade your vid card though because you're going to have to turn everything down which will make the game look like crap.

2 gigs of ram and a new video card would work wonders for your performance, otherwise when you have to load in a load of new assets it's going to stutter alot unless you are only minimum settings & vgclient.ini tweaked.

It'll load the game but that's about it.  You'll have really poor fps even on the Highest Performance (lowest) setting.  I'm talking 10 and under fps.  And pretty much forget grouping or going to cities.

You will need a new video card to run VG properly and most likely another gig of RAM.

I have the same proc as you but I have 2gigs of RAM and a 7600gt.  I can run the game on Balanced most of the time.  Before I upgraded, my rig was similar to yours but I had a slighly better vid card than you and it was impossible to play properly.

The minimum requirements lets you run the game but you really need around the Recommended specs to actually play the game.

It might work, although even with settings turned down it's going to have some problems.  The main problem (as the other poster pointed out) is the video card. The FX series really doesn't meet the minimum requirements well. Even with more video ram, the FX series wasn't a true shader 2.0 card from what I've heard.

With those specs, sounds like it's an AGP slot for video. If you go for a 6600 GT or 6800 series or better nVidia card or perhaps a Radeon 850 or better if you prefer ATI, you should be able to play. The 7600GT AGP version is a good choice. If you want to go a bit better, the x1950 Pro AGP is a very nice ATI card.

The jerkiness will probably be reliant in part on the speed of your hard drive and the level of fragmentation. I highly recommend you read some of the tweak info on VG affiliate sites. Also defragment your hard drive often. If you compress data on your drive, don't do so with thee game. That can also add to overhead reducing your overall performance.

    Good luck!

If you tweak the .ini file (many threads on how to do this) and play on balanced you should probably get around 15-20 fps. If you get a nother gig of ram and upgrade your card you will probably get like 30 fps on highest quality with the tweaks. Your processor is plenty good, but your card is a tad outdated and you could really use 2 gigs of ram to really rock the graphics.

Even without upgrades you can play as long as you tweak.
