Big Question

Dont get pissed at me of someone has asked this before. Can wow work on dial up because i would really like to try wow. I live out in the country and there is NO possibal way to get any faster internet, my connection speed is 52kbps. I have played guild wars and i did not mind the lag on that. If it will work is there anything that could increase my speed like certin servers are better or somthing like that. Thanxz GreenFire

I'm really not sure. If you can play Guild Wars without too much problems, you should be able to play WoW. But you will most likely encounter some lag. It may not be unplayable, but you'll lag none-the-less.

I've never played WoW on anything less than broadband. but you should be ok.

Yes, WoW works on DU, but you may have some lag problems every now and then.

Why dont you just try out the 10 day free trail and see for yourself? that way you can see what works for you w/o spending any cash?

Now the question is, how long will it take to download the trial for WoW on dialup ? But if you can get that to download, it would be a good test for ya. You can make characters on every server if you want to (I believe, it has been a while since I last played) to try out the lag on each. Good luck!

Ugg ya that's what I figured. Well, if you have a program to continue downloads, you might have it in a few days, even if the download gets canceled (I used to use DAP, I think, back in the day. If you use firefox though, I believe it comes with a resume feature). Try that, and hopefully you will be able to get it soon!

Yes, it will.  Quite well in fact.   My nephew played on dial-up for a year and a half before his family moved to DSL.  Never had much problem playing with him and he got his Rogue to lvl 60 on dial-up.

Of course, the quality of your dial-up service and local phone lines will really be what determines how well it works for you.

    Good Hunting

it would work with DU but expect too much lag because of the slow connection..and as you said, you've played guild wars and didn't mind the lag, then i guess you wouldn't have problem on WOW either..see ya!!

definitely it'll work on DU...but ready to face some lag problems but not that much as long as your pc specs meet their requirement and it will not have that much problem..but i think you won't mind the simple lag because you are used to it since you play guild wars before.....
