Ok this game looks very interesting and I have some questions about it too.
I know this game is supposed to be squad based combat but are there going to be massive battles as well for PVP?? I ask this because in this time period and the myths all had epic battles.
2. Is this gonna be like the Odyssey all the gods/ goddesses and heroes and powers and stuff??
Thx I know 7 of you guys are going to go "Look it up" but i rather ask you guys

All you need to know is that SOE is behind it = game has a handicap from the start.
Go look at their station acess page. Full of games they have ruined. 90% of the mmo games they are associated with fail, must be the SOE CURSE.
Otherwise go look at www.godsandheroes.com
* "The idea that high-end content should be that extreme also strikes me as a little crazy. Now there is a way to implement 40-man content and make it a lot of fun, but I personally think that requiring 40-players to take down one mob that drops a few small pieces of loot is pretty lame. We've talked about having 40-man content that scales based on how many players and minions you have in your party, and you'll certainly see a scalable grouping system once the game goes live. But what if, and just bear with me on this one, what if 40-man content didn't revolve around killing 1 super tough mob, but instead involved serious full-scale combat with an overwhelming opposing force? Something that required strategy, minion control, and coordination beyond what anyone has had to deal with before. It should be something that had a better system of loot distribution and gave more players a wider opportunity to be rewarded for their part in a significant battle." Community blog
too Asspiles (or whatever your little troll goes by) if you had done even the slightest bit of research you would have quickly discovered SOEs involvement is restricted to printing CDs and getting the boxes onto shelves. All development, server hosting, customer support etc are all done in-house by PE

SOE is only publishing this game
OR
SOE is doing the box art? (makes no sense but thats what I heard) I also am not a big fan of SOE but this game does look promising plus I love this time period and stuff and up to this point hate magic fantasy games and all that crap but this makes sense in a historical way so ya.
I am just gonna deal with the MMOGs for relevancy to this site.
EQ1, ruined by SOE with the Planes of Power expansion, first expansion released after Brad Mcquaid left and SOE was in full control. The increased focus on raiding whilst actively removing soloing and small group pursuits drove many gamers away.
EQ2, a crappy game which to this day has failed to meet SOE's expectations, never achieving the numbers they wanted, and failed most gamers expectations, losing 50% of their subscribers according to MMOGchart.com. SOE squandered all the experience and feedback available from EQ1 and made a game most players did not want, proven by the ongoing fundamental design changes since release.
SWG, a disaster that should not need explanation if you haven't been asleep.
Matrix online, a crappy game they acquired and have not improved.
Vanguard, a game which by all accounts was released prematurely, is in a beta state, and whose future is questionable.
SOE's involvement with any MMOG is the kiss of death and I wish Perpetual would sever their relationships with SOE before it's too late.

EQ1 - Lasted what, 10 years? Plenty of people played (And still play) and enjoyed it.
Everquest 2 Plenty popular, plenty of people don't feel like it was ruined. and is one of the top rated MMO's on just about every MMO site around. If you loose 50 percent of your subscribers and are still rated in the top 5-10 thats pretty impressive.
Matrix - You said it yourself, they aquired it and didn't improve it. They didn't ruin it just didn't make it any better.
SWG- Tough to argue that they didn't ruin this one
Vanguard - Plenty of people playing and enjoying this one as well. Just because the future is unknown doesn't mean it is ruined.

Please comment and let me know which if any of their mmo games in their station acess sections are any good.
Whats up peeps? Had to know id show up sooner or later. So just a few notes on whats been said.
1. The current success of some recent games such as Vanguard,EQII,etc etc is not nessacarily attributable to the game but to the desperation of peaple to do anything than play WOW.
2. EQ-1 10 yrs nuff said.
3. S.O.E. sigh
lets face it . Who do you want launching your game? SOE or Gamespy?
Ill go with SOE. much as i hate to .
4. If you cannot decide for yourself whats enjoyable how do you ever expect anyone to entertain you?
I look forward to a new age of gaming which short of any comers, will be trailblazed by perpetual and those peeps making stargate worlds ooo.
Totalus
1. There will be pvp but I do not think at launch. If you read the interview with the developer linked in other places in this forum, he mentions pvp. Details are not known but I am pretty sure pvp will be included at some point.
2. Yes - the games has a fully developed class system and god system and is centered around Roman mythology. Just go to their main site and read all you want about it.
Now as too the SOE nonsense I continue to read, SOE is publishing the game. They have no rights to it, no development say, no nothing other than they will publish it. In other words, Perpetual Entertainment (PE) will have SOE do things like print the dvd's/cd's, do some marketing, maybe use the SOE launcher to launch the game, etc.... I am not a developer but thats just a guess. All developmental rights and vision and all that belongs to PE and NOT SOE. So please don't base your opinion on this game just based on the misinformation as it relates to SOE.
i for one am glad there wont be PVP at launch ... i know a lot of people, get frustrated at that, but imho ... like it was done with eq2 and other games ... delaying PVP is always a good thing ...
helps devs get in touch with the strategies players develope for different classes ect.. , and enables them to make better judgements in regards to balancing ... games which release with PVP, always end up nerfing here and there .. which really creates animosity towards them from players on the nerfed end
I think the devs will be on top of it though, I just hope they don't go promising too much and take too long to deliver later. I've played some games where I've waited for promised features for years.
Never give up and never surrender!
