Wyvern mmorpg

I've recently found this little gem of a game, and I have to say, it's great so far. It's definitely NOT about the graphics. In fact it's more a graphical MUD than anything.

It reminds me of the old RPG's I grew up with and loved on my commodore 64. It has just enough graphics to spark your imagination, a lot of depth so far, lots of incredibly challenging quests (the infamous tower of sokoban is driving me nuts!), and a really fun mix of races. I currently have a storm giant I'm really enjoying.

Definitely check this one out if you're a true RPG fan that isn't concerned with graphics. Read the Player Manual (that's what really got me interested, even moreso than the screenshots) and make yourself a character.

Oh, and did I mention it's free? (donations are welcome though like most free games)

Wyvern has become my new guilty gaming habit :)

    Like wyverns and dragons in a MMORPG with depth and quests? You should take a look at Dragon Empires!

    Difference is, Wyvern is completely free :) It's one of those independent games that's supported by it's players, and actually designed by them. You can attain wizardship at level 25 and start designing areas with the map editorfor the game to be considered for inclusion. And there's some real talented wizards I have to say! (whoever designed the tower of sokoban deserves a strangle! 90 levels and I think less than 30 have been solved so far?)

    So, it can be your faithful 'other' game when you get burned out on your subscription game, like I do all the time.

    The game looks pretty neat :). I might try it out soon, especially considering RYL is down atm, grr :P.

    I got into the website fine, but when I try to download the client, it isn't responding. Shame, I wanted to try out the game last night ::::16::

    You're clicking Play Now! and downloading from there right? I had no problems. Just remember that you have to both download the client AND create a character throught the webpage. It's step by step under the Play Now! link. Like I said, I had no problems and was playing in 10 minutes (and most of those minutes were thinking of a name :))

    You think I'm trying to give you a bad link? You think the moderators here would even let that link and this thread stay open if it were bad?

    It's a legit link don't worry. I don't know why it's called cabochon though. But it's the Wyvern home page. Don't freak out.
